2005 vintage. Beautiful nose, with cassis, blackberries, cedar wood, a little smokiness,and flowers. Seriously concentrated, combining power and elegance. Quite deep ruby with wide terracotta , garnet rim . Quite deep slightly funky , red focused sous bois . Tobacco , slightly herbal notes . Quite concentrated but slightly flat red fruited sous bois , tobacco tinged , mineral , grafite finish. Not the best bottle of this , a bit funky and lacks a little exuberance and clarity on the nose and palate. Drink now and over the next few years on this showing. Tasted blind while knowing the list of wines. Guessed the wine. And I found it beautiful and refreshing, especially in contrast with the previous atrocity. A charming bouquet of cherry, white pepper, mushrooms, dill and pickled tomato. Relatively funky, fresh and elevated. Not simple, rather a challenge, but a pleasant one.
