Just in case this whole corona thing ends badly. — 4 years ago
Really well done, great density of flavor, bit surprised by such rugged tannins, intensely dark brooding & opaque with ripe cherry & tomato vine, crushed stone & minerals, violets & spice, this layered rascal just kept showing more and more... stood up to lamb like a champ! — 5 years ago
This is just lovely with hints of black cherry and plum with creosote, black pepper and soy accents. Palate is full of spicy Syrah flavors with lots of white pepper, plum and black raspberry. Tannins are present but sauve with lifting acidity. Just a great level of balance on the earth driven finish. — 6 years ago
Stunning 98 right bank. These 98s from st emilion seem to be firing on all cylinders. Had this beauty with stuffed rabbit at jardiniere while celebrating my moms 70th birthday. It had loads of beautiful fruit, some rose petal / violet and just enough earth to make it really interesting. We finished the bottle in literally no time. Excellent!!!!! — 7 years ago
This 2013 is really well balanced. Of course we can't compare with the amazing 2009 and 2010 but this wine is very fruity strawberry blackcurrant and liquorice. Enjoyable from now and for the next 15 years. It reminds me off the 2007 which was criticised and nowadays nobody is able to recognise this vintage blind according the fact that it is just delicious.
2013 shows us that Lagrange is a Chateau who produce every year very consistent Wine.
No bad vintages just a different window of tasting. .. one of the best value for money in Bordeaux 2013 — 8 years ago
I miss the rusticity of the past, but there's no denying that this is cleverly made. Sweet, grainy and accessible tannins, pure cherry fruit, hints of blackberries and freshly cut oregano; this is nicely updated. I like it a lot, but there's just something missing... — 9 years ago
Delicious but somewhat deficient on the finish. Just a bit lacking on the tail end. Reminds me of Jennifer Lawrence in silver linings playbook: "I opened up to you, and you judged me."

Dark fruit with just a hint of oak with spices, and coca cola slightly. The wine is powerful, acidity is there and the ripe dark red fruit adds freshness to that full palate. The finish that is delicious, has a rustic side and some grip reminiscent of a good Nuits St-Georges. Despite that, a wine I really like in this vintage that has not yet convinced me. 90-91

Mature red cherry aromas and flavors, good balance, still can be aged further, just starting to show sweet fruit notes in the medium-long finish, lovely. — 4 years ago
No detailed notes as we were at dinner with friends. Three Somm’s present for dinner and all thought this was wine of the night. I was one of them.
I believe their 15 is even better than their fantastic 2010.
If you are not familiar with this producer & terroir, I highly recommend you do. It remains under most consumers radar. I should probably stay silent on it as it will only drive up demand and price. But, good wine is meant to be shared with people who know how to appreciate it. This is around $55 on pre-arrival and $70ish if not bought on pre-arrival.
Olivier Lamy left the family Domaine to learn from other producers before returning to his family Domaine. He made Méo-Camuzet for few years just before his return.
The body was thick and slightly waxy. Nice green apple, pineapple, lime, honeysuckle, fruit blossoms with excellent round acidity, texture, elegant and well polished finish.
Recommend you slightly over chill it and decant it for an hour if you drink it this young. After it hour, it really blossoms.

Fabulous. Just delicious — 6 years ago
Very funky when open. The full was low in the neck and cork just crumbled, so not expecting much. But very rich about 30 minutes later and held on through the evening. Really nice. — 7 years ago
Began to open up after about an hour or so just when there was little more than sediment left in the bottle. Would like to try this again with a longer decant. Great mouthfeel. — 7 years ago
Lemon zest and pear on the nose with a slight hint of honeysuckle. Slightly creamy and off dry on the palate with a nice mineral finish — 8 years ago

This wine embodies everything I love about French wine. So balanced, so damn elegant. Mmm!!!! (Thanks Ted) — 11 years ago
Prieure Saint-Hippolyte - Languedoc - Blanc
50% Grenache Blanc, 25% Viognier, 25% Vermentino
Nice fresh fruit, dry, Peach, pear, floral, wax, stones.
Not the biggest, baddest, longest aging wine ever, but... a very well made Languedoc Blanc to be enjoyed now, under $15.
Guessing 11-12.5% ABV (label range 11-14), went nicely with an omelette dinner.

This was the best Pibarnon and one of the best Bandols I’ve had - decanting filled the room with a startling and wonderful aroma of blueberry pie. There was more in the glass, with meat and earth, too. Just like the recent 2004 Pallieres, these classically made Southern French wines just need enough time. I haven’t bought much from these areas lately, but these bottles are making me rethink that. — 4 years ago
Bought at Nicolas rue de Saint Dominique. The most close I am looking for a full-time bodied wine, but not very complex — 5 years ago
Medium ruby just beginning to get a brick rim. A bit stemmy on the nose, with some vegetal character and green pepper underpinning the tobacco and minerality. A little cassis and blueberry fruit - 40% merlot in this cépage — 6 years ago
Pale yellow, tropical fruit, mineral finish. — 6 years ago
This Anjou Saumur is a character heavy floral white. Took me a minute to appreciate and undetstand it but once I got there, I was impressed. — 6 years ago
A surprise. Just what I needed during the hurricane! — 7 years ago
A nice visit back to one of my favorites! Chateaux Lilian Ladouys is just such a great value north of Pauillac in St. Estephe. Perfume out of the glass: Sandalwood, decaying violets, wet underbrush, stewed plums, cigar box, and peppers. It still has chewy tannin structure, and luscious acid - red apple skins, black plums, mocha, tobacco leaf, and vanilla to the finish. I wish I laid more '09 down to have around for a while.. drink now through 2030.

DAY 1
👃Perfumed orange florals, peppery lemon & minerals
👅More pretty & less intense than many PYCMs. Palate is medium bodied. Not totally dry
Remaing wine Slow Decanted in my refrigerator
DAY 14
Change in character vs Day 1. The subtle fruit has been shrouded by intense minerality
👅Flinty, smoky minerality with just enough lemon fruit. Nicely salty. Long bold and distinctly dry finish
Quite different on the 2 occasions. It was more delicate and very nice on Day 1 but I preferred the intensity & minerality that had developed by Day 14💕🥂
