Côte-Rôtie Serine

Smoke, bacon fat, peppercorns and olive, crushed violet, crushed blackberry and plum skin. Dominated by sweet smoke and hung meat, gorgeous nose. Palate is just now starting to unwind, tannins are elegant but a little unyielding, needs food to shine. Palate is full of fruit, there’s just enough polish and extract to make this very pleasurable. This wine wears the ‘10 vintage well, no need to pop these soon IMO.

Very well made. Violettes, bacon and smokiness. Tanins still present but starting to become enjoyable

Wine of the night. Great depth of flavor. Classic meat flavor with a nose that jumped out of the glass.

Had several run ins with this wine, and it’s just so damn good. Remarkably deep with so many layers of flavor. Olive, bacon fat, baking spice, raspberry, and tea notes. WOTN and I’m not sure it was close.

A surprise. Just what I needed during the hurricane!

Dirty sox on the nose....and it wouldn't blow away after a while in the glass. Heavy earth and anise that was hard to overcome.
