Light brassy-gold color. It’s 70% Sauvignon but the nose shows a bit more Semillon character. Sweet lanolin, waxy notes, yellow orchard fruit. The palate shows the Sauvignon, however, with an initial whack of gooseberry and clay-like minerality. A bitter note closes it. Acids are lowish and the alcohol peeks through (hello 2018!). Pretty good but not my favorite Graves style.
UPDATE: Night 2, it’s more integrated and balanced, with more presence in the mid- and latter-palate. Upping from 8.8 to 9.0. — 3 months ago
