Small production. RSV has under 200 acres of vineyards in 5 Carneros locations & a winery in the Stags Leap District. The wines are 100% organic. Ruby with berry, cherry & spice aromas. On the palate flavors of wild strawberry & cherry with complex spice, citrus, oak and balanced acidity. Fine soft tannins, good balance, long finish with an earthy characteristic ending with notes of vanilla spice. Nice! — 10 days ago
Opens with tropical fruits and mineral notes up the nose, later on I swear I smell caramel popcorn! It has a wonderful soft, silken texture. Excellent acid quality and even though it's labeled at 14.2% the alcohol is subdued allowing you to really enjoy all of the other qualities. This is a real standout chardonnay for me. Hats off to the wine maestro Steven Urberg. — 9 days ago
Maybe the best thing I could say is that if I liked big Cali chards, I would love this. Its beautifully made, I respect it. Its actually not huge, & restrained in so many ways. On nose-ripe starfruit & mango; On palate-Ripe mango, banana (?) blended with iodine & taffy. Medium acid, strong mid palate. Tried it cold & tried a tic above room temp. Prefer colder, as hides some of the tropical fruits, which aren’t my fave. To be fair, I think I would give higher score if this fit my flavor profile better. Its reasonably priced. Good with food-paired with a cavatelli dish with cooked squash & garlic. — 2 days ago
Crisp, dry, big bubbles, not sweet- just how I like it. — 24 days ago
Beautiful syrah that I will really have trouble identifying blindly. Ruby colour almost still purple even after 15 years, suggesting still beautiful years of ageing potential. On the nose, the bouquet is rich and intense, marked by the Bordeaux style, on a beautifully melted ageing with primary notes. The whole is rich and complex, between notes of black fruits (blackberry, blueberry, plum) tobacco ageing, chocolate, vanilla, cypress; evolved undergrowth notes and so on, it's a real taste journey!
— 9 days ago
back of the bottle explains that this wine is 45% Chardonnay and 55% Pinot Noir harvested from the vineyard by the name of Folies de la Marquetterie, first pressing, oak aged. So it’s a single vineyard rendering.
It’s delicious. Lovely bouquet and palate presence, super fresh citrus that expands on the palate, finishes clean and long. I like the density and weight coupled with freshness. And it’s one quarter the price of CdC. — 20 days ago
A bit more fruit forward and spice, but tannins, long finish, drop color - lots of really good complexity — a month ago

Tasted blind, from magnum. Bright amber-tinged flamingo color. At first, an oxidative nose. But over the night, this showed notes of orange marmalade, rose water, quince, light honey and some caramel. Lots of energy in the glass still. This powered through the night and a last glass before departing showed this wine has a lot to give. Guessed 76 Dom Rose. — 9 days ago
