Mmm, delicious. Altesse is likely my favorite Savoie white. While I live how Jacquere can almost have this ethereal quality to it, very pure mountain air kind of feel, Altesse brings this weight and depth which is really intriguing. This 2016 is just starting to show a little oxidation, but in a gracefully aged sort of way. Apple skin, delicate white flowers, slight brioche, lemon zest and loads of minerality on the finish. A marvelous showing for the Vergy 2008. Light on its feet yet gorgeously complex, right in between first and secondary aromatics. — 8 years ago

Decanted for 4 hours. In a spectacular way at the moment. Tannins resolved. Elegance and restrained energy — 10 months ago

A solid proof why you should age your Bourgogne wines. A “simple” Village Lieu-dit (above La Tâch) is finding itself in a wonderful stage in life near 10 years past harvest. Just let it dust off its shoulder and catch your attention as it opens up with a toffee like red fruit character, dried roses, sous bois, truffle, spice and rocks before slowly walking out with a graceful posture. — 6 years ago
An excellent medium bodied Cabernet, this wine is rich in creamy tannins but not so much as to be “liquid bread “. It has very pleasant, yet restrained, Bing cherry and red currant flavors. The oak is also applied with a subtle hand. Overall, this is an impressive offering, which should evolve nicely over a couple of years’ lying down. — 8 years ago
