a fatter style. Tastes as if there’s a little skin contact. Hazy. Deeply colored corn-oolong tea. Textural. Medium bodied. Perrsimmon. Fermented lime. Hay. — 8 days ago

Kunde Family Estate

Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

This is always such a killer value. Swooped up on sale for $10 and this slaps with a simple meal of grilled sirloins, pork chops and asparagus. Lush, red and dark fruits, tobacco and bell pepper on the nose. On the palate, red and dark fruits, tobacco and baking spices. Medium plus tannins. Medium plus acid. Long finish. Perhaps not the most exciting but it totally hits the spot. — 9 days ago

Really nice blend. Feel like i am in the French countryside. A classic Alexander Valley profile of fruit forwardness and a nice balance. — 6 days ago

Dos Cabezas Wineworks

Pink Wine Garnacha Monastrell

73/13/7/5/2 blend of Garnacha, Syrah, Monastrell, Graciano and Piquepoul Blanc. Pink to red rose petal in color (it’s not just the artwork) light cherry aroma, Good tangerine-cherry-white pepper flavor consistent with two main red varietals here. Not quite bone dry but close. Nice acidity and mineral finish. Muted flavors overall but a fine wine for sipping on a hot day. Paired so well with a Bianco Verde pizza al fresco last week at Pizzeria Bianco that I went out and bought a bottle. — 7 days ago

Marcassin Vineyard Chardonnay 2013

A bit of a shock to the system for the Burgundian palate. But nice to change it up sometimes! Massively concentrated and pretty opulent to me, but there is a line of racy acidity that balances its weighty texture and full body. It‘s intensely flavored and layered with stone fruit, butterscotch, hazelnuts and hints of burnt orange and marzipan on the finish. A finish which goes on forever. The wine seems to pick up a presence of alcohol over time. Either that or it could have been that dessert altered my palate by the end of the meal. Either way, very enjoyable and always a nice treat to have arguably our country’s best Chard, but for the most part, I‘ll stick to Burgundy 🙃 — 12 days ago

Cannonball Wines

Sonoma County Chardonnay 2019

This wine is actually California Chardonnay, made from grapes sourced in Monterey and Mendocino counties as well as Sonoma. The nose shows apricot and lemon pie, with a healthy dollop of oak spice. The oak comes through on the palate as well, in the form of some of the nicest “butter” I have tasted in a Chardonnay. Meyer lemon, pear and cantaloupe flavors also turn up. The acidity is quite nice and fresh, and the mouthfeel is full and rich. — 13 days ago

Toscano Sangiovese Blend 2016

Spicy cherry and raspberry. Smoked meats, tar, leather but still with punchy fruit. Not quite at the level of the ‘13 El Campo but still nice. — 9 days ago
