As close to Napa Cab perfection as I’ve ever had. — 5 months ago
Pale yellow in color. Bright and full on the palate. Light fruit and honey, with a hint of peach at the end. Refreshing. — 4 months ago
I bought some corked bottles and some screw cap bottles. This is for the corked one. At 13 years old it’s tasting great! I’m expecting the screw caps to be just as good. — 6 months ago

I love Stags Leap and this one is crazy reasonable and so good. Cherry flavored, soft on pallet. Beautiful wine. — 10 years ago
Stags’ Leap Chardonnay 2023
Napa Valley, California, USA 🇺🇸
Overview
A complex and elegant Chardonnay, made with a touch of Viognier (1%), aged in a thoughtful mix of French oak (50% neutral, 25% new) and stainless steel. This approach keeps it bright and fresh, while still offering richness and depth—a classic Napa Valley balance.
Aromas & Flavors
On the nose: lemon crème, white pineapple, melon, and delicate citrus blossoms and magnolia flowers.
On the palate: Golden Delicious apple, Asian pear, lemon curd, with accents of vanilla, brioche toast, ginger, and an exotic lift of lychee.
Mouthfeel
Full-bodied and creamy, with a long, satisfying finish. The minerality adds freshness, while the oak provides subtle spice and structure.
Winemaking Notes
100% Chardonnay + 1% Viognier, aged for 4.5 months in oak & stainless steel. Native malolactic fermentation balances creaminess with acidity.
Food Pairing
Perfect with grilled scallops, lobster tail, or white sea delicacies. Can also elevate creamy pasta or roasted chicken with herbs.
Verdict
A gorgeous Chardonnay—rich, floral, and layered, but still refreshing. A wine that shows Napa’s finesse while keeping an approachable style. — 3 months ago
Decant and pour. A splendid dark purplish garnet color. On the nose: inviting aeromatics jump from the glass with dark cherry jam, graphite, herbaceous, vanilla oak, floral. Taste: blackberry/black cherry, crushed stone ,tar, spice, and a medium plus tannic kick me wine. Like to try again in a few years. — 5 months ago

Plum, pomegranate, boysenberry fruit with chocolate and tobacco tones. Complex but smooth. — 8 months ago
Dark garnet colored with a slight brick colored meniscus on the edges. Dark fruit, cedar, black olives and leather on the nose. Bold tastes of black plums, figs, cherry cola, and licorice wrapped in silky tannins and perfect acidity. A great finish. Kudos to my friend Steve Reynolds for making such an unbelievably great wine. This wine is not showing any signs of letting up. A true heavyweight Cabernet at a great price. — 6 years ago
Delicious, but still could use some time to let the enormous fruit flesh out a bit... — 7 years ago
2004 tasting great. Black currant with soft tones of mineral/earth/wet stone. — 8 years ago
Initially dry, but with a fruity nose. Expected to have a full flavor and finish as the bottle nears the end. — 12 years ago
Tart lemon, like a thicker Chablis — 3 months ago
Well balanced and aged beautifully. Did this in a blind tasting and guessed 2007-2009 as the fruit was still so prominent and pronounced but in a nice way. Tannins were so well integrated and there was still nice structure. Crowd pleaser! — 3 months ago
Dark ruby with purple edges. Great nose, full bodied, good oak. — 4 months ago
Dry-Farmed, a bit of Cabernet Franc in mix, aged 20 months in mostly neutral French oak barrels. Dark Ruby with aromas of ripe berry fruits, herbs and floral spice. On the palate flavors of ripe black cherry, raspberry and cassis with espresso, cinnamon and earthy spice notes. Well balanced, lively acidity, fine tannins, long ending with fruit, cacao and tobacco spice! Nice! — 6 months ago
Dark Ruby. Lovely aromatics, violets, roses, flower garden that blossomed into a nice layered flavor trove of chocolate dipped cherry and toasted cinnamon stick. Perfect compliment to a NY Strip. — 7 years ago
It is drinking so well, I got for 10 bucks!! — 10 years ago
