Sugarloaf Mountain Estates Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Cork was a little damaged… it wasn’t ruined but it didn’t taste like the last bottle I had. Still big dry and earthy but lacking a little something. — 14 days ago

Pritchard Hill Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Awesome wine with the owner Cyril Chappellet.

Beautiful 2012 Prichard Hill Cab.Brambly red fruits, cedar, little smoke, and sultry tannins leading to a nice long finish. Smooth and jammy in texture. Nicely structured and layered. With secondary notes of chocolates espresso and slight tobacco. Oops a little too much fun that evening! He was there in spirit. Just edited rating with Cyril’s name.

Signature Donn Chappellet Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1998

What a joy to taste well aged, well made Napa Cab. From a tasting of ‘98s from benchmark producers (Phelps, Clos du Val, Burgess) this was a favorite. Soft and velvety texture, very elegant, complex nose, long finish, this wine is what I wish more folks got to experience for the varietal and appellation. There has been a bunch of challenging press lately on Napa and Cab in particular, tasting this will remind us of what we are aiming for in this valley. — 2 months ago
