From brine to seasoned to cooked bird.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Gotta have two glasses with Thanksgiving Turkey, one for dark & white meat.

Nicely, ripe blackberries, black plum, black raspberries, dark cherries, medium intensity, dark spice, cinnamon stick, clove, nutmeg, vanilla, dark & red fresh and withering florals, near perfect acidity and a lush, balanced, long finish. At it peaks.

Dry Creek Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Lovely, beautiful wine. Plums, cedar, black tea, herbs like tarragon, cherries, blackberry. The nose is wonderful to smell. Palate is so well balanced. More baking spice on the palate with a continued fresh herb and fruit. As it finish there’s a touch of fruit punch that comes through that I just love. It’s not sweet but like the essence of fruit punch. I need to buy more wines from this place. I always love them. — 9 days ago

Marcassin

Marcassin Vineyard Chardonnay 2013

2013 vintage. Overtly decadent, überripe and spent when tasting just after decanting. No sediment. Initial temp tasted was at about 60 degrees F. Rated an 8.8. Beyond golden color in the decanter. Prepared an ice bucket ice bath with double linen napkins atop the remaining ice and placed the decanter roughly 25% into the ice bath. Let sit for 20-25 mins. Retasted. Wine temp was closer to 45 degrees F. Completely different wine. Tasted like a top-notch, 10 year old Meursault with ridiculous amounts of vanilla bean and crème brûlée. Slight undercurrent of acidity wove the entire endeavor together. Now? A 9.4. Not my style but it didn't suck. 11.15.23. — 13 days ago

This older bottle is showing so beautifully! Aging totally gracefully, still with life left ahead. Delicate, and flavors still leading with fruit. — 12 hours ago

Failla

Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2021

I opened the 2021 Failla Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir.

On the nose there is cherry, strawberry, cranberry, truffles, violets and earth.

On the palate there is bing cherry, strawberry, cranberry, vanilla, cinnamon, spice and light earth.

This wine is medium bodied with a smooth velvety mouthfeel medium to medium + acidity and medium to medium + fine supple tannins that moves into a long red fruit spicy finish. Enjoy the weekend and stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷
