Let’s face it, “Irouléguy” might fun to say…but it’s likely to be a hard sale at most tables. However, when the former, longtime winemaker at Pétrus is behind it, wine folks will perk up and listen. And that’s the situation we have here with Herri Mina. The story goes, Jean-Claude Berrouet after spending over 30 years as the winemaker at Chateau Pétrus, returned to his Basque homeland to create Herri Mina. He made two wines: a Blanc and a Rouge. This is the former and it’s fabulous.
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of dinner. The 2022 Blanc is a blend of Gros Manseng, Petit Corbu, Petit Manseng. It pours a bright straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe tropical and orchard fruit: pineapple, green apple, some stone fruits, yellow flowers, nuts, and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long, slightly saline and there’s a rich, creamy texture. Classy. Drink now through 2032. — 8 months ago

Earthy aroma. Acidic, slight stimulation to my throat. Strawberry and sour berries. 2015 @1250, Kping -, 201217-201219 — 5 years ago
Tasted at the winery. Good potential to develop, still will be on the light side of Nebbiolo — 6 years ago

Grand Bourgogne et très belle complexité ! — 11 years ago
2010 vintage. Nice fill and perfect cork. Decanted with very minimal sed. Still vibrant color a shade below ruby red. Tasted 5 mins and 30 mins after decanting. Nose slightly dirtier than expected after the funk blew off 10 mins post-decant. Medium body. Two other participants involved in tasting this mentioned a banana note, which I got after a bit of searching. It was far from a Hefeweizen gimme to be sure. Was honestly captivated by a clarion bell of exquisite, red fruit tartness at the top of the middle palate that set and reset my experience throughout at every sip. 02.22.25. — 8 months ago
The 2019 Pinot Noir Campbell Ranch is fabulous. Complex and multi-dimensional, the 2019 is dynamic and super-expressive. Rose petal, lavender, spice, sage and mint play off a core of dark red/purplish berry fruit. This is a terrific Pinot from the northern part of the West Sonoma Coast. Gripping, austere, reductive, mineral-laced and utterly cerebral. That describes the general appeal of this very well-crafted entry level bottling. But it remains expressive, aromatic, lifted and graceful. This vintage has proven to be one of the best gateways into serious and traditional Burgundy wines for many of my customers, earning it a couple of extra points from me. — 7 years ago
Quite elegant, lifted and fresh. Classic secondary aromas and flavors with loads of acidity. — 8 years ago

Amazing tobacco/leather profile for a super light wine — 12 years ago
Blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon & 19% Merlot, aged in new oak. Deep Ruby color with aromas of ripe berry fruits and floral and earthy spice notes. On the palate flavors of blueberry, cherry and blackberry with licorice, tobacco and toasty oak notes. Long rich finish on soft juicy tannins, drinking well and still has room to age. Very Nice! — 8 months ago
Very well made, better even the second day — 9 months ago

This is Beaujolais like you never tasted it before, I guess, decanted for 60 min, color deep red, nose deep dark berries, not the raspberries juice with banana notes, this is wine, needs time, after some hours it still kept the balance , awesome☄️☄️ — 5 years ago
Light and dry. Tart hints of lemon and a mild grassy flavor. Great wine for the value. — 6 years ago
