Never tried this grape before. Merits more drinking. — 7 years ago
Sometimes I have to force myself to buy a white that isn't Loire Valley Chenin ( but without actually leaving the Loire Valley, because that would be crazy.) This Cour-Cheverny made me glad I did. I've only had Romorantin a few times prior, but I loved the tart acidity balanced by a great saline minerality. — 8 years ago

2011, Domaine De La Grand Cour, Le Clos Cuvee Vielles Vignes, Fleurie Gamay. My first bottle from this producer. Wow, this is major Cru Beaujolais. Full bodied, complex, acidic, tannic finish. Tart red fruit, earthy, a little oak. Give me more! — 10 years ago
Super romorantin avec un peu d'âge, un nez floral et mielleux et une bouche riche et équilibrée qui s'étire longuement. Sautez dessus si vous le voyez en tablettes! — 10 years ago

Golden apples, bruised pear, gardenias, almonds, honeysuckle, saline, smoke. Rounded acid, medium-plus body, juicy-oily texture, crisp floral-stone fruit-honeyed finish.. Delicate aromatics unfolds nicely into rich texture, mineral driven, highly food friendly. Recommended for Chenin lovers.

I can't remember having many wines that went better with a burger. — 10 years ago
One of the better Cour-Cheverny wines I've tasted: a statement that says everything but also nothing. Less unpleasantly oxidative than Daridan, more interesting than de Montcy and Cazin and at much frendlier price than Henri Marionnet. For the money I think this is the best that's out there-- Golden apple skin, celery, tarragon. — 11 years ago
Nose is high toned with red and black cherry. Very pitty. Ripe but also a serious granite underlining. Very refined for 15. Good berry fruit almost cassis as well. It’s very clean and pure. Palate is complex, deep and juicy with really terrific tannins and mouthfeel. It’s tannins are so special and sweeten out on the finish. Long. Exceptional balance and purity. Love how this is like Bordeaux meets Gamay. A bit hot. I can any other vintage this being not hot and I’d have a higher score. It’s all there except the heat. — 7 years ago

Lemon zest, white flowers, pineapple, and an intriguing pine cone undertone. Fresh acidity just barely rounded off at the corners. Light-bodied and refreshing. — 9 years ago
