Notable from the first nose. Super fresh, then come the strawberry and cola. Fruit coming to life as it opens, mid/light body on palette. Best bottle of Ceritas I’ve opened. — 8 months ago
I’m between a 92-93 here. Rounding up due to potential.
A producer I’ve had a few times over the years that for some reason I didn’t explore, even though I always quite enjoyed them (chards and Pinots alike). I picked up a few random bottles from the winery to explore more, and was told to start with the offering as it’s easily accessible.
Down the middle style when it comes to Cali chard. Coastal (bright, sea spray, crystalline), but ripe (beautiful juicy orchard fruits). In the background there is a sweet lemon flair. Aromatics and palate match up, though it had some flinty reduction notes to blow off when opening. Profile wise, I’d say this is more soft and rounded than Ceritas, but not as powerful or bold as Aubert/Marcassin. — 2 years ago
Okay... probably a year past it’s drinking prime, but still fun and full of pleasure. I love these wines when they’re young and vibrant...my third favorite domestic rose behind L’Aventure and Ceritas. This one got lost but still gotta appreciate its cut at 5 years out! Not much fruit left, but nice savory funk notes. — 3 years ago
Outstanding. Very Chablis in style. Lemony crisp greatness. #Ceritas Zephyr Chardonnay 2018. — 4 years ago
In a great place. — a year ago
Bright shiny new SB from the crew at Ceritas. Nice acid/fruit balance, low ABV, medium-weight…plenty of citrus, straw, and unripe melon and a long, almost reductive finish. Very tart lemon notes, but marvelous with home baked Sockeye and local yellow string beans. Very young… I think the wine will settle-down a bit with age and pick-up a bit more “gravitas”. Glad to have a half dozen to experiment with over the next few months of local MI summer produce. — 2 years ago
Richly layered with incredible length. Gorgeous fruit with a purity of place. There is some extraction but not overdone. Last night tasted with Aubert UV-SL and Ceritas Occidental also from 2017. Stylistically, the heavier higher alcohol Aubert and the Ceritas couldn't be more different with the Ferren somewhere in the middle. The group was split between the Ferren and Ceritas as the favorite but all agreed that all the wines were excellent. — 4 years ago

Excellent quaff. Goes well on the boat with friends. — 2 years ago
Really bright acidity and cold climate nose of boysenberry, pines, pomegranate and a hint of earth. Otherwise a little bit one dimensional and too young. Will be interesting what this shows in 3-5 years. — 2 years ago
Well balanced and precise chardonnay at the opposite of the old cliché of californian chardonnay.
Beautiful nose, slightly reductive note that are charming, slight flint. Super fresh, white flowers, hay.
In the mouth: on day 1 a bit deceptive, high acidity and fairly closed. Felt too green. Day 2 opened ip more roundness and friendlyness.
Probably way to early to open, I’d give a couple more years in the cellar.. — 3 years ago
