Mas de Can Blau Cariñena Blend 2013

Tour de Force, absolutely black, so inky & dense, so brooding with layers upon layers of liqueur like black/blue fruit, just gobs of rich extracted macerated fruit w/distinct vein of minerality, licorice, mocha, smoke, hedonistic, light dusting of sweet baking spices, couldn’t pull our noses out of the glass, and the palate just reinforced everything… just massive, wave after wave of richness, a bit of heat from the hi ABV is my only minor deduction. Showed power & grace, masculine, structured w/lengthy caressing finish. This could go 20+ yrs, it’s just a baby. — 20 days ago

Dom Pérignon

Brut Champagne Blend 1996

POV: you’ve been asking your dad for 15 years when we can drink this wine and he finally opens it to celebrate your wedding weekend. Golden hue. Lemon, bruised apple, brioche. Soft moussey bubbles, dry and velvety on the tongue. Absolutely AMAZING to drink. — 2 months ago

Blau & Blau Blaufränkisch 2012

Jermann ‘Blau & Blau’ Rosso 2012: Medium-bodied. Impeccable balance. Nicely integrated tannins with the right level of acidity. The color was bright ruby red and the aromas were red fruit dominate. Tasting notes of strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, herbs, earth, oak & smoke. Dry elegant finish. What an outstanding, unique Northern Italian blend of Blaufränkisch (Franconia in Italy or Lemberger in Germany) & Blauburgunder (Pinot Nero in Italy or Pinot Noir in France). Bought this several years ago at an enoteca in Bellaria, Italia due to the attractive pink label and tonight was the night it would be set free & consumed. Long story short, loved every drop; it was funky. It was fun. It was memorable. Highly recommend. Cheers🍷 — a month ago

Blau Montsant Red Blend 2018

In one fell swoop kick off the sandals, throw off the shirt, hop skip across sun-baked flat tile stones and dive with a swan’s assurance into the seaside swimming pool, warmed only by the elements, and just as mysterious, elusive and temperamental…….

Cascina Francia Barolo Nebbiolo 2001

Outstanding. Rich, intense tannins with an everlasting finish. Nose of truffles, red cherry, roses. Drinks well, but can cellar another 20 years with no problem. — 2 months ago

Great acidity and fruit - drinking well now but also can go a lot longer. — 6 days ago

Château Lafite Rothschild

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2004

1 hour decant(some fine/cloudy sediment). A sublime medium magenta color. On the nose: very aromatic nose of plum, funky earth, cassis, pencil lead, sweet tobacco, mint, worn leather. Taste: open and accessible, vibrant, smooth wine with red plum, cigar box, crushed stone, spice, cassis, cedar, smoked meat. YUM! Just pure class, what more can you say except even with my accolades not nearly good enough to be worth +$900/btl...paid less then $170 15 yrs ago. — 5 days ago

40th Anniversary Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

It's time for my #FridayCabernetfix.

This is a very controversial wine in the wine world. Some love it, yet some really hate it. I can understand both sides.

Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim. Not showing age at all.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity.

Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, spices, tobacco, light vinaigrette, earth, chocolates, peppercorn, coffee and mocha.

Nice finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.

This is a great Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley.

Tasty and delicious with a strong nose. Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 10 years.

I had this vintage 7 years ago, and liked it just as much. This time
I had it blind, so it is what it is.

Wine Spectator 91 points. Robert Parker 96 points.

This 10 year old is easy drinking and good for parties.

Very enjoyable by itself or with food. A good sipping wine.

14.6% alcohol by volume.

93 points.

Would you say its worth the bucks (all 150)? Nice review.

@Martin Bergo depends on how difficult it is for you to get the $150 😊

150 USD for a single bottle of wine I have only put down for an occasional belle epoque, dom perignon, and hermitage.
