Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

30+ minute decant. Prime drinking age. Dark red color with brownish rims. Nose is dominated by burning wood and dirt. Lovely texture and more terroir than fruit, with a subtle sweetness to it. Finish was medium minus and somewhat watery. Pleasantly surprised based on my last bottle in late ‘18. — 21 days ago

Dancing Bear Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2008

A blend of 95% Cab Sauv & 5% Cab Franc, from Howell mountain, deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruit, oak, floral and sweet spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, plum and ripe jammy cherry with notes of cedar, cacao, tobacco and lots of vanilla spice! Fine soft tannins, well balanced with acidity, long finish ending with fruit, oak, sweet spice, with floral earthy presence, elegant! It’s perfect now, should continue to age well for next decade.
