Absolutely amazing. Dark, Smokey, slightly spicy. Preferred it day one. 2nd day it got a bit sweeter and lost some of the spice. — 5 years ago
Dark brick red. Sort oxidized on the nose. Like dried fruits and apple cider. Flavor is tart and classic Italian. Lots of cherry. Some smoke. Hint of strawberry jam. Lovely balance. Licorice/anise comes later. Juicy but rich. Southern Italian wine wins again! — 6 years ago
My favourite Pomerol in a great year 🏆 now sells @ £250-£285 😱 On its 6th try & it’s now much better integrated & drinking lovely but will age more 😉 A New Year’s Eve delight 😍 enjoyed with Lasagne 🍝

Special birth year bottle for a milestone birthday this week. The cork was almost entirely intact and we double decanted to catch all the sediment. A beautiful brick color in the glass, evolving over 4 hours and drinking nicely. Plenty of fruit left and I also picked up a little salinity/olive savoriness. Glad a few friends popped by to share this with me #50inquarantine #socialdistancing 🍷😷🙌🏻 — 5 years ago

This is a fabulous Cabernet Sauvignon blend from Napa Valley.
Dark ruby in color with a brick rim.
Full bodied and smooth.
Dry and fruity on the palate with medium acidity.
Showing blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, leather, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, earth, light vegetables, coffee and black pepper.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 23 year old is elegant and powerful. Rich and extracted, with a nice mouthfeel.
Good by itself as a sipping wine. Well balanced with great complexity. I just love these Napa Bordeaux blends.

*tasted with somewhat congested nose due to allergies* 45 min decant. Medium garnet color, showing more brick-red than I would expect for the age. Very meaty with slight red currant and strawberry on the nose. Palate of milk chocolate, raspberries, under-ripe strawberries, leather, and tobacco. Medium + tannins. Medium + acidity. The acidic backbone of the wine makes it good with food. — 5 years ago
Red fruit leather, fresh sweet tarragon, smoked red currant, pressed dry cassis, a slight oyster shell to light purple olive. Baked brick and slight red pepper flake on the long finish. — 6 years ago
solid bottle, fun to drink. cloudy yellow and some light sediment, very much looks smells and tastes like a natural wine. — 6 years ago
I usually tend toward Pinot Noir, but when I want something just a bit bolder, Gamay hits the spot. I have really been enjoying this 2015 vintage. — 7 years ago
😍 @ £31 this Musar is top & I’ve reviewed a few times 👍 personally i find it the best of many vintages I’ve had & not as funky as others 😉

Pretty color of ruby with a wide brick rim.
Nose of red fruits, tobacco leaf, light wood, spices, coffee, black pepper, vegetables and herbs.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with raspberries, fresh cherries, spices, light oak and espresso.
Short finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.
This is a nice 11 year old Barolo.
A little tight right out of the bottle, and needed 90 minutes of airtime.
Fruity on the nose and earthy on the palate. Elegant and soft.
Still feels very young and would be nice to revisit it in a few years.
Not as complex as I expected it to be, but showed a beautiful nose once it opened up.
Not balanced at this point, and a little tart for me. Could be this specific bottle though.
