Made a big family dinner last Sunday night, not often we get everyone around the table with travel and sports, so kicked it up another notch with a lovely wine — 8 months ago
It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Dark ruby in color with a short purplish rim.
On the nose blackberries, black cherries, earth, black plums, cedar leather, vanilla, tobacco, chocolates, coffee and black pepper.
Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate and very fruity, with blackberries, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, vanilla, espresso, cola, light herbs, earth, chocolates tobacco, spices and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up.
This 6 year old is still young, but already very enjoyable. From the great 2016 vintage, and it is showing.
As it opens up (two hours), more complexity and structure come in, well worth being patient. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.
Robert Parker 98 points.
Ripe and fruit forward. Extracted and rich. A gorgeous wine.
14.9% alcohol by volume.

Great zin!! Big and bold, but not as fruity as many zins. Had it with a beef sausage Blue Apron dish. — 8 years ago

Enjoying a glass at Joseph Adler Inn and I’m quite pleased. Definitely buying a bottle on my next trip. — 7 years ago
As good as it gets in Oregon PN. Lots of bright r fruit, spice ant the finish goes on and on. Just a great, enjoyable wine. — 7 years ago
1982 vintage. Color still fairly youthful. Meniscus not too wide/watery. Brickish, minty nose with big cedar & baking chocolate flavors. Holding up better than expected for a fruity vintage. — 8 years ago
Blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot, deep dark ruby red, aged for 21 months in French oak (75% new), aromas of ripe fruit, sweet spices and herbs. The palate shows blackberry, juicy black cherries and currants, big, full tannins, complex and well balanced. Complex with notes of leather, tobacco, cacao, espresso and earthy character on a long finish. Very Nice. — 10 months ago
A great drinking wine on its own- wouldn’t say it flourishes with food. Super dry, big, bold, mouth full. — 4 years ago
Nice. Big fruit, but not as ripe as what I expected from a barossa Shiraz. Evolved with air. Finish only slightly herby. — 7 years ago
Smells like a Pinot, looks like a Cab Sauv, body and finish of a Zinfandel. Aromas of gingerbread with flavors of red berries and even cranberry. Lots of sweet spicy notes. Let this one open up as it is a BIG Pinot Noir. Almost like Christmas in a glass. Outstanding! — 8 years ago
