The 9th and final Wine in the Gevrey Chambertin Grand Cru bracket. Quite a rich dense crimson in colour. A tarry nuance to the black cherries on nose and palate. A medium to full bodied palate finishing with some astringency. This is the 4th year I have been to this tasting and I have learnt that Dugat Py make their Burgundies on the large side. For that reason I was able to pick this as the Dugat Py in this blind tasting knowing the identities but not the order of service. Also my least pointed in this 9 wine bracket. — 6 years ago
Buttery, full body, just the kind of Burgundy white that everyone likes — 7 years ago
My one and only bottle opened New Years Eve in Punta Mita, Mx. Another 02 in the sweet spot of its drinking window. Pure Dugat Py Gevrey nose, soft tannins and sweet violets on the palate. First time and wish I had more. Absolutely love the 02 Charmes Chambertin but those don’t come cheap.... — 8 years ago
Dark ruby - almost Opaque. Colour of an Aussie Shiraz. Lovely perfume. Powerful palate with incredible depth and intensity. Ripe fruit. Everything there for a long life. Much surprise when the identity was revealed as a Charmes with many thinking it was the Dugat Py Mazis. — 9 years ago
Incredible power, nice mix of black and red fruits with a lingering finish of 45+ seconds. A true gem. — 10 years ago
The 2nd of 9 Grand Crus from Gevrey Chambertin. Mid to pale crimson in colour. Confectionery aromas. The pale colour defies the mouthfilling balanced medium bodied palate. Excellent. Good cellaring potential but you won’t need to wait forever like the Dugat Py Mazis. — 7 years ago
Color : Red
Wine estate : Bernard Dugat-py
Designation : Burgundy
Name : Bourgogne
Country : France
Vivino : 4/5
Note : Non-Filtered Burgundy, do not forget to return the bottle before tasting to avoid unpleasant surprises 😉
With its red robe, we are on a typical Burgundy nose with aromas of flowers, strawberries and slightly woody. A correct length.
