Very grassy. Key lime pie, green apple, and a load of primary yeast flavor. This is beautifully balanced and I think it will benefit from some time in bottle. Disgorged 2019 — 6 years ago
New world Chablis emulation but with a little more ripe fruit character and butter notes. Butter mochi, ripe green apple, cooked apples. Really tart finish with duality if fruit character. 0 new oak usage in this wine, fermented in used oak barrels and battonage for a year. Not your typical Napa chardonnay by any means but elegant and pretty. Perfumed and pretty. — 8 years ago
From a restaurant list. Medium gold, heavy in the glass. The nose grabs your attention right away. Apricot, some peach, some stones, and a bit of honey. Rich in the mouth and with air the acidity powers up over a couple of hours. Some bruised apple and warm apricot notes developed. Overall, nice showing. — 8 years ago

Very pale green color with buttered toast, green apple, lemon, lime and wet stone aromas. On the palate it's approaches medium-bodied and is very fresh with green apple, mixed citrus and a hint of white peach flavors and an appealing minerality with a lingering finish. — 10 years ago
Petrol nose. Great acidity. Green apple. Honeydew — 11 years ago

The nose reveals slightly sour & bruised fruits. Bruised golden apple & pear, overripe pineapple, lemon meringue, green apple, lime zest/candy, melted, salted caramel, honeysuckle, white & yellow peach, brown butter, caramelized brown sugar, hints of mint, sea fossils, grey volcanics, whiff of white spice, vanillin, bread dough, yellow lilies, spring flowers with mixed floral greens.
The palate is rich, lush, round, a touch gluey & full. Nice mousse, micro-oxygenation, slightly sour & bruised fruits Bruised golden apple & pear, overripe pineapple, lemon meringue, green apple, lime zest/candy, melted, salted caramel, honeysuckle/honey comb, white & yellow peach, inside banana peel, brown butter, caramelized brown sugar, nougat, hints of mint, sea fossils, gritty, penetrating chalkiness, grey volcanics, some white spice with nice lighter heat, vanillin, bread dough, yellow lilies, spring flowers with mixed floral greens. Excellent acidy. The long, even, fresh, well balanced finish persists nicely and is delicious.
Nice bottle and well priced at $38 w/ deluxe gift box.

Quite simply a crowd pleaser. Notes of peaches, apple, nectarine. Nice acidity and balance. And a great QPR. Well done Charles Smith yet again. — 11 years ago

Toasted brioche. Toasted brioche. Toasted brioche. And a little bit of green apple, wool and chamomile — 13 years ago
Opulent and complex. Green apple, peach, a bit pipe apple, brioche, fresh bread dough, chalk, sea shells, and hint of toasted nuts. Savory and crisp at the same time. Splendid acidity. Super energetic mousse, though lacking a bit refinement.
Base wine is 2011, disgorged 2018. This and the Bollinger Special Cuvée are two of my favorite NV Champaign from larger houses. With 40% reserved wine averaged 10 year old, the CH Brut Reserve no doubt is a better value. — 6 years ago
Beautiful acidity with green apple and almond skin. — 7 years ago
Very good. Crisp, smooth, good amount of acidity. Fruits of pear, apricot and a hint of apple. — 8 years ago
Deep -- and I do mean *deep* -- gold in the glass. Big nose of golden delicious apples, wet hay, and caramel corn. Voluptuous full body and medium plus acidity wrap up the multi-layered palate of baked apple, straw, dry caramel, and any number of other flavors depending on where it is in the pass through the mouth. Hearty. A meal in itself, but oh how it shines with scallops and risotto! — 9 years ago
Tropical with pineapple on the nose; crisp green apple with a hint of lemon on the palate. Great with the chicken paillard we had with it. — 10 years ago
