Very nice amber wine, one of the few producers we’ve found that make well-structured natty that aren’t overpowered by cidry funk and “off” aromas. Strong herbal overtones. Black tea. Massive desiccating tannins. At the same time the palate has an appealing softness. Lovely work. — 4 years ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed after dinner. The 2003 pours a beautiful amber color with and transparent core; medium+ viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of honey, dried apricots, marmalade, marzipan, and candied nuts. On the palate, the wine is sweet with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose along with some tropical fruits: passion fruit and pineapple. The finish is long and decadent. Unctuous and a lovely way to capstone a meal. Deep gold to amber color. Beautiful clearly defined nose of green apple, hint of almond powder marzipan and buttered toast. Medium body with high acidity. Leads to an ultra long finish with mouthwatering fresh acidity. Really awesome stuff. Out of Magnum. — 5 years ago
This is insanely complex. Just tons of flavor and again awesome malt backbone similar to heady. Tart grapefruit, limes, with a bread like quality. Then big bitterness like orange rind and pine sap. Makes my mouth water. — 6 years ago
Very dry and clean. Minerals, light florals, grapefruit. Excellent pair to smoked trout. — 4 years ago
Old scarlet color with amber rims, mostly translucent. Has a perfume that I covet. Notes of black fruit and some raspberries, freshly cut cigar, Provençal herbs, some gravel and pepper, and a hint of barnyard earth. Still has good fruit and structure, with tannins fully integrated. Velvet glove finish. I’ve had this maybe 15 times and it never seems to disappoint. — 5 years ago
