This is really fresh, really good. Bold nose of apricot, amber and ripe yellow fruits waft forth with a gentle spice interwoven throughout. Medium body with nice legs, the palate is acidic and mineral forward, with bright lemon, cumquat and slightly underripe orange. Not the best for the price, but a good wine regardless. Quite shy on the nose, showing mostly malo and oak characters - reckon there's probably more new oak this year. Some floral features, palate delivers expectedly riper fruit characters and a very mineral finish. Balanced, but pricey for what it is. Go for the 15' Aligote instead! 😉 — 8 years ago

Wow! Pinot gris/blanc and aligote Vinicius like a great CA Chardonnay, coming out in the best possible way. Took some time to open up but when it did it was outstanding. Still-fresh ripe pear, a hint of minerality, some cheese rind, the oxidative butterscotch and lemon curd are hidden under layers of freshness and acidity and there’s no hazelnut then you’d get in a chardonnay. What a wine! I’d hate to get it blind but it reminds of the fine examples of aged whites from Terlan, Vorberg in particular — 3 years ago

So lucky to get to try this. We only got 1 case allocated. Aligote is the “second” grape but when well made is memorable. Tart green apple, underripe tangerine, lemon and some salinity. Chablis on steroids. Just a complex bottle of wine. — 5 years ago
