Blood-ruby, undiluted tenor from rim to rim. Blackberry-cran with a smoky coat, violets, raspberry reduction, wild nettle, suede, rose petal, dried cherry, applewood, and gingerly ginger, spare cedar, finest snuff, cherry pit and damp clove spiced nose. All with a slight memory of campfire. Black plum, cedar, violet, dried, sour cherry, dark leather, peppercorn, dried cranberry and red currant, cinnamon apple, fine, grippy tannins that integrate into the whole with a pleasing sense of herbs and bitters, sage and lavender. Did not expect this complexity from carignan, and floral notes that evoke like Nebbiolo. Class. .

85% #garnachablanca 15% #chardonnay from a #singlevineyard in #somontano #spain #handharvested and carefully whole-bunch pressed lightly to give the finest and fruitiest expression of the grapes fermented with wild yeasts to express the terroir. The vineyard, “El Llano” is 2.5 hectares and is the highest in Somontano in the #pyrenees at 700m. Above sea level. 4 months on fine lees in stainless steel. 90 Parker 92 Suckling — 5 years ago

#handharvested #coolclimate #nebbiolo from the foothills of the Alps. Pure, gorgeous, Nebbi character. Cherry/cola aromas and crisp black fruit flavors. Not overly tannic either — 10 years ago

#beaujolaislatignie this is the first time I’ve tried a Latignie appellation wine. 100% #Gamay I’m really impressed with how well it is still tasting. #handharvested it’s 14.5% and it really resembles Garnacha blind. This is a theme now with me, I think blind, (if not made in 100% carbonic) Gamay and Garnacha can seem quite similar. Especially the Beaujolais Cru. — 15 days ago
