Awesome! Snagged as a 1/2 price Friday night deal at one of our favorite weekend spots and this feels like we hit the jackpot! Really lovely Barolo...smooth, balanced acidity, larked superbly with both our Italian entrees. Will definitely drink this one again. — 6 years ago
It wasy first time drinking #soldera. It hit all my spots. It's fully of fresh red fruit, floral notes. High acidity yet super well balanced, clean and long finish. This is the purest form of #brunellodimontalcino bravo. — 7 years ago

To celebrate our 2-yr wedding anniversary while in Alaska, we had 5-course dinner at one of the premier spots in the state, which just so happened to be at our resort (at the top of the mountain). A Wine Spectator recognized restaurant with an incredible wine list!
Stark contrast between the last wine and this. Much more flint/rock, white flower, almond shavings on the nose. Higher viscosity on the palate, and it had a great texture. Lingering finish. — 8 years ago

THE BEST red wine I had in years... wait let me taste it again... 🍷balanced... fruity but fry... easy to drink... hits all the spots without even trying 💕🌏 — 9 years ago
Thank you @Lee Lightfoot a stunning cab. Towering example of great cab hitting all the right spots with a 42oz ribeye. Dark blue black color. Aromas of camphor, cherry liquor, rose petals and graphite. This wine is kicking ass... it's not everyday I want a big Napa cab but with this kind of balance and class, why not? — 9 years ago
Finally getting around to posting wines from my annual Napa trip from two weeks ago. Always goes by quick! Lots of fun new stops this year.
We returned to Hourglass after our visit in 2018 as the wines are just so enjoyable, but the tasting cave may be one of the coolest spots to enjoy a glass of wine.
Compared to the Estate cab, the Blueline seems more dusty and tannic. Tart currant, baking spices, baked mixed berry pie, herbal spice and graphite. Very compact and dense. Coats the entire palate with fruit, smoked meat, vanilla pipe tobacco and cedar. Hold. — 6 years ago
Deep, bold flavour; long berry and plum finish with a hint of oak. Pairs well with playdough sugar cookies and playdough bacon. Certainly eases the pain of child rearing. — 6 years ago
Tart cherries, rose water, juicy cranberry, and raspberry jump out of your glass. Sweet cola nuts, fresh tea leaves, violet, and lip smacking acidity —- it hits all the spots of an enjoyable Oregon Pinot for me.. — 7 years ago
An absolutely brilliant evening at one of the best hole in the wall spots in all of Fort Worth, Nonna Tata. The Italian food is out of this world good, and if you can get there in time (which we luckily did) the patio is perfect for this weather!
To celebrate one of my best friend's coming first child, Kevin and I met up and I wanted to supply the wine as I know he's a Gargiulo fan. Funny thing is, I'd never had Gargiulo, but thanks to @Martin G Rivard , I had one of these bad boys to open! Martin told me to not worry about the vintage and trust him as it's a killer wine. He. Was. RIGHT. Wow. After about an hour and a half of being open, this was so incredibly supple. Dark purple and almost black in the glass. Blackberries and raspberries on the nose...faint hint of pepper. Absolutely perfectly balanced on the palate...blackberry pie, blackberry preserves, plum, red and black licorice on the palate. This is so delicious now, but in 3-4 years, this will be absolutely divine. Up there with Red Cap in best wines of 2011. Thank you, Martin! — 9 years ago

@Mike R @David L @Joe Lucca @Ron R @Paul T The WOTN was a beauty so generously given to me by my Bud Paul Treadway! Thanks Paul!!! The tasting notes between the Beau Vigne Estate and Morlet's Coeur de Vallee are eerily similar. The true differentiation between the 2 is Morlet's seem less integration at this time. My buddy Kirk @Kirk Alexander always says "The test of a great wine is when nothing jumps out at you". This particular bottle did just that. Every person this evening commented on the fact that it was such a superbly balanced wine. It was dialed back ever so slightly in all the right spots for it to dance on your palate effortlessly.
Thank you Paul for a stellar bottle!!
It was enjoyed by friends outdoors on this beautiful S FL cool night. What else could one ask for?

Consistently a top merlot for me. This vintage shows a slightly darker profile with added savory notes. Still mainly black cherry with baking spices, coffee beans and cherry tobacco leaves up front, but it turns spice and cinnamon driven with currant, plum and dark cocoa toward the finish. — 6 years ago
The photo here sums up my thoughts on this PLASTIC bottle of wine. My boyfriend’s bare chest is perfectly captured within the walls of my glass while he covers the tender spots. Drop this bottle like it’s hot and it still won’t break - the pool perfect red that actually still tastes good. Not the best, but for summer festivities, winenot? — 7 years ago
Finally able to lock down reservations at Magdalena's. They have a unique set up in that they have a set menu that changes every week, and you are notified the week before if there are spots available...they sell out within 5mins! We were lucky to get on the list for their most recent "Supper Club" as they call it.
Based on the menu, we figured 1 white and 1 red was appropriate. After enjoying my favorite Sauv Blanc (the Addax SB), my buddy Luke (who is a big Pinot fan) brought this to expand our knowledge on pinots and see what Oregon has cooking. At pop and pour, this was delicious. Lots of cherries, leather and dates on the nose. The taste was very different than the aromatics. More leather, Bing cherry, cedar and a touch of rhubarb. A very "dusty" Pinot. — 8 years ago
2014. I'm glad I have a few more bottles of this. My first impression was that there was too much oak but… I think I was wrong about that. I believe I just opened this one way too soon. This wine has all the tools for the long distance: fruit, acid, structure, and concentration. Right now it has delightful texture but it's a little bit awkward in spots. That is, I realize, just youthful exuberance. This complex chardonnay is going to be ready for its close-up at some point. But not right now. Give it a few years. You both deserve it. — 9 years ago
One of the few off-dry Rieslings I was able to find at my local liquor & wine spots as the rest were toted to be dry or sweet. (Delectable guided me to this bottle.) Loved how it complemented the charcuterie board that my friends and I noshed for dinner. Sweet to my normally red-favoring tongue but a nice follow-up to the Prosecco we started with. — 9 years ago
First good red burg I have had in a while... that's my fault though... it's hitting all the rights spots right now. Nice acidity, ethereal, and yet has a masculine fruity undertone. Nice and herbal. It has hit that tipping point where the secondary flavors are very enjoyable. — 9 years ago

This wine is electric! From the first waft on the nose to the splash on the palate, this wine is one of those I like to call “shiny.” It makes the insides of your nostrils tingle, the acid glands in the soft spots in the cheeks of your mouth sing, and the tips of your ears dance. It feels and smells irony like wet copper pennies and the texture is sheer as fine crystal. Bright fresh lemons yet some butterscotch warmth detected on the nose. High citric acid lights up the mouth with liquid lightening. Open for summer in your glass! — 6 years ago
