Many years ago my wife & I stumbled across a restaurant in the Texas Hill Country that served this wine. We both fell in love with it because it encapsulated many of the nuances that we enjoyed: ripe berries, baking spices, and savory earth. Our palates have evolved since then but we still have a special place in ours hearts for this selection. It’s caused us to search intentionally for it, and we have had a hard time tracking it down in stores over the years following our discovery but managed to find a few here and there. Unfortunately this bottle was corked and had to be dumped, but we have another stashed away so we’ll see how it is. We’re definitely past its prime but who knows, maybe we’ll be surprised.

Jan 18th, 2018Fruit forward, but light and not too sweet. Easy drinking wine - great as a party gift or pair with something mild since it probably won't hold up to bolder flavors.

Um, not great. Acceptable for $5 but not more. Cab heavy and you can taste the sticks and seeds.

Here is the winner of Wine Club at $12.95, I rated it the worst, 5 people in a group of 8 rated it the best....Meritage is difficult to do a blind tasting on....

Mar 29th, 2015Meritage blends are deep, meaty and elegantly aggressive. Lock & Key is my wife and I's favorite meritage and has earned not only a spot on our wine racks, but actually about 3+ spots on any given day. It is great.
