Deep garnet red with lots of bricking on the edges. Light cassis and dark cherries on the nose with some tertiary notes like earthiness and damp leaves. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) and full bodied. Lots of complexity with light cassis and dark cherries, a little bit of tomato leaves and earthiness. Very well rounded and integrated with a long finish. This will only keep losing fruit and get earthier with time. Drink now. — 9 years ago
Yum yum, excellent work by Will Harlan!!!! — 11 years ago
Opaque core , quite fine pink rim. Really stains the glass , very large legs . Rich blackberry , cassis, chocolate , violets. On the palate rich and quite sweet blackberry fruit , chocolate tinged , cassis liqueur , long on the finish however and surprisingly hiding most of that alarming 15.2 % alcohol. Reasonable acidity and suave fine tannins , long finish . Should age pretty well but already shows well with a bit of air. Will improve over the next 10 -15 years or so I suppose. The following day showing more liquorice , pretty sweet blackberry liqueur. It is pretty big and rich , no subtlety , but it is well made and successful for the style in which it is made. Harmony of the Seas , main dining level 4 , somewhere off the Cuban coast. — 6 years ago
Such a nice wine! 2007 was mild tannins and bright acidity, nice to drink in 2017. I will drink it again after 2027:) — 8 years ago
Perfect balance!! Smooth, elegant . Worth the wait and then some. I will have to get more of this. — 10 years ago
Absolutely superb. Youthful color. Lively. Complex. Great fruit. Structure remains. Will go 10-15 more years. — 10 years ago
1960 was for kind of forgotten close to the nice 1959 and 1961 vintages - but the wine still handle well, with a light profile, a nice experience from a nice gift, maybe 60 was better for the Beatles !? However it feels kind of younger than 1960 at first sight, an off vintage in good shape but will get soon enough to its peak 😐 — 11 years ago
Somewhat disappointing for a great producer in a great year. Medium body medium color, dark fruit hint of tobacco.
Hopefully a few more years will improve this wine. — 3 years ago
The nose on this is ethereal & elegant. Fruity notes with some leafy undertones. The palate shows a much bigger frame with rich dark cherry notes and some blueberry character on the back end. Tannins are present, but well balanced and the palate weight gets more elegant with air. — 6 years ago
Taken from what was generally a tough vintage in the Northern Rhone, the 1997 ‘La Chapelle’ Hermitage is a striking rendition at more than twenty years of age. Bulls blood, iodine, red cherry puree and crushed mint flavors provide some serious refinement. Silky throughout, this will continue to evolve over the next five to ten years — but is marvelous right now. Drink 2019-2025- 93 — 6 years ago
1978 Heitz Napa Cab. The only con against storage in an old damp cellar, is that sometimes a mouse will eat the label! Absolutely signing tonight. Still fresh, with lots of mint, sage and other botanicals/herbs typical of Heitz. Classic black fruit that was seriously strutting it's stuff. One of the best Napa bottles I've had in quite some time. — 10 years ago
2013. Surprising Pino. Let is sit for a bit and you will have a drinkable balanced wine. Will buy again. $15 at Kroger. — 11 years ago

Good stuff. Restraint. Freshness. Medium body. Tightness. Feels young yet. Air it out. Drink with spag bol. — a year ago
