It runs slightly oily into the glass, golden-yellow color, the reduction on the nose is surprisingly limited for its age, it still appears incredibly fresh, then in the mouth a smoothness, tastes like pineapple/tangerine, peach with an enormous fruit body,... for 10 € it's a joke, great cinema :-) — 5 months ago

Nose: tropical flowers. Very pretty. Confectionary. Apricot flower. So fine.

Palate: mineral. Confectionery. Super elegant apricots. Wow. Rainwater. So so filigreed. Not a normal sweet fruity auslese. Wow. What a masterpiece.

Auslese is normally viscous. This is so fine. Such a distinctive style. You get the weight of prim but more elegant and more interesting and diverse fruit. More tropical. Wow.

Finish is rainwater infused apricots.

Holee shit. Best nose of the morning. Smells like a scene in nature. Holy moly. Honeyed apricots. So so insane. Minerals. Peach. So vivid, so precise, icing on a cake. Confectionery but also a scene in nature. Wow. Saffron? Smells sweet like but is bone dry. Juicy and pure, so fresh and so compact. Structured and dense. Crystalline purity. Compact. Stunning. Wow acid. Cheeks tingle and tongue does not tingle. Amazing freshness. This is superb and dense, but so nimble and elegant. The length is endless. Very exotic fruits, pineapple, super wet earth, guava, plantains, super slate and pure aromas and so so intense. This is a crazy crazy nose. Palate is all acidity and gorgeous fresh fruit that has amazing cut and clarity. Insane balance and purity. So much acid and intensity but it’s so harmonious and stunningly elegant. And my goodness this is so long and elegant. The fruit is exotic but not overripe. Unreal. Almost smells like a N rhone white. But then palate is all razors. So pure and elegant. A stunning wine. Nose is mid season cherries, cranberry bog, gorgeous flowers and herbs. So floral so fragrant. Love how expressive the nose is. Palate is so silky, elegant and pure. Wonderfully sappy and fresh with perfect balance the most restrained opulence ever. So pure and clear. The clarity of the fruit is remarkable. So much more open than the one I had at Steinmetz’s at the end of August. Really silky and sweet. One foot in the old Spätburgunder style and one foot in the red riesling camp. A stunning bottle of Mosel Pinot. Deep, penetrating nose of dark cherry, slate, moss, mid season cherry, black cherry and some blackberry flower. Tree bark and such complexity. Has more to tell that is for sure. Wild mint starts to develop. Palate is deep and structured with amazing sap and density and Grand Cru grip and structure. Pure, balanced and lovely black and red cherries with velvety tannins that are perfectly ripe. So pure and so deep. Incredible length and sap. Finish is a mineral wash and accented with blackberries and darker red cherries. This is young but very promising. So long and such well defined fruit. — 3 years ago

@Lyle Fass 6 Weeks? I maybe made it 6 minutes. Mosel Fine Wines said this was picked at 110 Oeschle with 40-50% botrytized grapes. I was prepared for a lush dessert ,and had a blue cheese plate ready to pair with it. Wasn’t necessary. The wine is barely off-dry. Generous, though not at all opulent. The botrytis is barely noticeable on the palate, just adding a slight raisin character to complement its honeyed pineapple and saffron notes. It has an improbable lightness and high, refreshing acidity, which makes the mouth water but doesn’t stand out. While I suspect it will gain weight with bottle age, this is a lean, chiseled athlete with not an ounce of excess fat. The finish lasts forever and brings lovely spice and light mineral character. The balance in this wine is impeccable; reaching a Jungian ideal. I have never had an Auslese like this. Bravo!

Just excellent. Crisp, precise minerality but what really makes it stand out is the savoriness not found in other rieslings- it's that bite of a luscious ripe white peach plucked from the branch on a sunny day.

Just as classic as it gets. A stunningly beautiful bottle of Spätlese. Nose is slate city. Green apple. Peach. Rainwater. Rubber. Lemon. Lime. So clean. Super juicy and clean but not over the top concentrated. Everything is in its little perfect place. Welcome to the Dollhouse 2 - Spätlese. (Don’t Google what that movie is about!). Its soaring aromas are mimicked on the palate with a soaring bit sublime perfection. This is not a dense, crazy wine, it’s a a perfect feather of a wine. This is what Spätlese used to be. Nose gets apple juice like with air but man if only apple juice smelled like this and not whatever the hell it smells like now. Lovely mid palate and just perfect but not aggressive acidity. My goodness this is clean and beautiful and just perfect for what it is. — 3 years ago

Wow. Love these. Wow is that mineral. Stunning mineral depth. Just dizzying. Amazing. Tree bark. Citrus rind. Almost a crystalline purity. Again, so airy like a scene in nature. Super complex nose. Maybe a 9.8. Wow, that is insane. That’s a 9.8 palate. It’s ripe but so crystalline and pure. Focused and nimble. Insane concentration and purity. Dancing pitter patter of acid. So so delicate. Finish is just insane and insane. Early season apricot. Mirabelle plum. Wow. Cleansing acids. Not painful and gently caressing.
