This is an incredible Riesling. Although it is Kabinet, it has just a touch of residual sugar which makes it perfect for spicy foods. — 9 years ago
Least favourite of the two kabinets. However still an amazing wine — 10 years ago
Light straw color, white flowers, more body, bitterness but nice. — 10 years ago
Makes you think with every sip. Sweet but not cloying; complex and minerally. Not getting a lot in the nose; touch of lemons. This stuff is excellent!! Thanks, Tom! Mom and Dad loved it too. Special wine. — 10 years ago
Intriguing nose of white/pink flowers and a mechanic's greasy wrench. Wild fruit bomb finish. Immediate pleasure. The most rambunctious of them all. — 11 years ago
2010 vintage, Spätlase Trocken. Beautifully balanced, hints of petrol mixed with pineapple brulée. Lingering dry finish. — 11 years ago
Nice pith. Candied fruit at first. On the kabinetty side. — 11 years ago
Ate w sushi at toro. Sweeter bubbly good for countering the weirdo spicy sushi we had. Probably too heavy for me to finish a full bottle lol
Phillip: "ripe orchard fruit and honey on the nose. Rich, sweet, little melon on the palate. Touch of toast and yeast on the finish w nectary sweetness" — 12 years ago
Fruity, fresh, crisp. Serve chilled and enjoy with some seafood. — 13 years ago
Ljus, mineralig som tusan. Dracks på Totale, gbg — 8 years ago
Goldenrod color, aroma of apricot, mango, mineral and a little yeasty bread note (think apricot Danish). Juicy mouth feel with sparkling acidity and well balanced minerality. — 10 years ago

The nose is quite volatile with a heavy dose of paint thinners (as we say in England), crisp green apples, pear drops and earth.
The palette has notes of saline, fresh apples and a nice gentle sweetness. The acid is soft at this point, so I consider this wine to be at its zenith. If you have em, drink them up. — 10 years ago
Belated thanks to @Christian Stachel for bringing good cheer to our new building! Next time I promise more appropriate drinking vessels. — 11 years ago
Honeysuckle with spicy fig and great balance. — 11 years ago
Impeccable balance — 11 years ago
Has evolved into very unctuous ripe, even baked, pineapple and creamy coconut, a little papaya and mango. Still maintains a slatey note but is much more to the mature tropical fruit qualities than I remember from tasting the wine when it was younger. Delicious! — 12 years ago
Regardless of vintage Willi & Christoph #Schaefer work brilliantly with whatever Mother Nature gives them and in 2013 it was very small amounts but very high quality!
The #Spätlese cleared €41 for 750ml & €132 for #magnum with the #Auslese coming in at €150 for 750ml & €78 for 375ml & €300 for 1.5L - always fair and square! #VDP #Auction — 12 years ago
Still kickin! — 13 years ago
Tropical fruit on the nose(maybe mango?) And honeysuckle. Apple notes with a mineral finish. Definitely sweet but beautifully balanced with acid. — 8 years ago
So good. So damn good. So cheap. So damn cheap. Gorgeous nose of slate, lime zest, citrus pith and a foreboding sense of power. Palate is generous and elegant with so much fruit for a Spatlese Trocken yet with a firm mineral backbone and lipsmacking acidity. Terrific wine and value. Great complexity and mouthfeel and long tangy mineral finish. — 9 years ago
Five years on this is extremely impressive. Acid is still so prominent but complimenting it's drive — 10 years ago
Loved this Riesling which had just the right hint of sweet. — 10 years ago
Terrific 2013 Licht-Stadtfeld spatlese trocken beautiful #acidity #minerality #rieslingstudy — 11 years ago
Beautifully balanced with good fruit notes and acidity. — 11 years ago
Hint of Apple, perfect to transition between cheese and dessert. — 11 years ago
Red apple and peach stand out with a hard acid core. Amazing. — 12 years ago
preserved lemons, citrus, hint of petrol, acidic well balanced with a touch of sweetness — 12 years ago

Beautiful chilled in 90 degree weather. Cantaloupe, melon, great mid palate, complex finish. Superb at 11 years. This is why Riesling is becoming my favorite white wine!!! — 8 years ago
