Loved this red when I first started drinking red — 2 years ago
2019 vintage. High, airy/perfumed nose of dill and white sage with a dollop of tar and charcuterie board. Medium-heavy body. Delicious riptide of bramble fruit and leather flavors that carry on and a balsamic/Fernet Branca note along with a lavender finish. Big-*ss tannins for a Côtes-du Rhône. Black olive lording over the proceedings Sauron-style from the moment the cork was pulled. White pepper wants to emerge on the tip of the tongue but not just yet. Soon…soon. Silly to find myself giving a "simple" Côtes-du Rhône a 9.3 but found it compelling enuff to seriously consider a 9.4. Didn't think it possible. — 4 years ago

I’ll be honest I bought this to blind my wine group and out of curiosity, as I never had a Japanese wine. Impressed how a wine with 10.5% alcohol can produce a very intense , fresh and flavorful wine. Strong herbal, saline and apple scents and flavors. A creamy texture along with some unresolved oak . I would guess this can age and hopefully resolve some of its oak. Needless to say when revealed people were very surprised. — 6 months ago
On nose menthol and oak like fernet. On the palate black currants, blackberries, butter, oak, fernet branca, with a medicinal black tea finish. First time having a Cabernet Syrah blend and it's blowing my mind. I'm not sure I quite like it but it's the most interesting wine I've had in a while. — 4 years ago

Also had this at Boston’s Bubble Bath along with other well selected wines. Unlike any other Barbera ever tasted. From Emilia Romagna. Herbal snd chalky, with intense aromas reminiscent of Fernet Branca?! Concentrated but cooling red fruits. Unique, intriguing, one of rose oh my god wines keep surprising me moments. Great with a Bolognese from around the corner. — 10 months ago

My liquor store guy gave me this and asked me to rate it. Portugal isn't my wheelhouse, but free wine is...
This is a blend of Syrah, Castelão, and Tinta Roriz grapes. Bright ruby color. Syrah defines the nose with muted red fruit and some spice. It's a very light-bodied wine with flavors of cherry, strawberry, violets, and a quick mineral finish. Very pleasing; I could see this being a nice alternative to Gamay at a pizza party. And it's cheap, I think my guy is doing it for $12, and he's usually priced a little high. It's a shame summer is ending- this is a light, refreshing red. I would love to know what some of you seasoned veterans think. Come grab a glass!
