This yellow-gold wine has aromas that are more herbal than floral, with savory dill bolstering the citrus and stone fruit. The palate carries much citrus along with savory balsamic notes. Acidity is great, and makes for a lively pairing with a variety of salads and seafood. — 7 years ago
Pale golden in colour.
Shy nose, bright acidity and a saline, stony minerality on the palate.
Lemon juice, starfruit, some green herbs, seabreeze, wet pebbles. Actually, this shows very young, nervous and tight and IMHO it could use a tad more charm, rondeur, richesse. Maybe some extra cellartime will do the trick..? — 7 years ago

Nectarines, white peach. Medium bodied. Saline & lemon zest finish. A bit sweet, which was a detractor, however might do really well with spicy fare. — 7 years ago
A gorgeous burnt yellow color. Had this with seared scallops and a cold veggie pasta salad. — 7 years ago

The Martín Códax Winery was founded in 1986 by a group of winegrowers in Cambados, the capital of the Salnés Valle. All grapes are sourced from their own vineyards. Nice light straw yellow color with aromas of white flesh fruit and floral scents. On the palate apple, peach, pear and lemon zest, some light spice with vivid acidity. The finish displays the minerality on a lingering ending. Crisp and fresh. Very nice! Tasting Sample. — 10 years ago
Tasty cheap white from Trader Joe's — 11 years ago
I had this last month but failed to review it until now. I am new to Albariños so I do not know how to compare it to others but it has a nice floral and peach aromas. Upon drinking it the acid was in check and there was a soft note of peaches and subtle orange favors. Not sure if this is typical but this was very enjoyable on a warm summer night. #albariño #spain #granbazán — 11 years ago
cool red from Spain--pretty sure I never had a red from this region before. — 12 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Tried at a tasting, like it, so I bought a bottle. An interesting and unique Albariño. Medium lemon color with aromas of stone fruits, citrus, blossom and biscuit notes. This wine was fermented in oak, and kept on lees for 6 months, with occasional stirring (batonnage), giving a soft creamy yeasty tone to the wine, aging well. On the palate flavors of apple and pear with toasty oak notes and vanilla spice. Long smooth finish, good acidity balance, ending with fruit and oak character. Nice! — 6 years ago
