Yes it is biodynamic which I tend to dislike, moreover this wine travels very badly and most of the bottles I drunk in the USA were bad. Surprise this one is really good. Color straw golden (my wife immediately caught on and looked surprised until I told her “bio”. Slightly oxidative, smokey, good mineral content. Warm vintage but pulls it off. Best coulee I ever tasted in NY. — 6 years ago
The Baumard family growing the noble Chenin at Rochefort in the Anjou for centuries, in 1953 they acquired a vineyard in the Quarts de Chaume, & in 1968, purchased acreage in Savennieres. Straw with full fruit and light spice aromas. On the palate ripe apple, pear & melon, complex, with vivid acidity. Lingering, ending with mineral and sweet honey character. Wow. A white that should age well.

Mike Grgich, the “King of Chardonnay” farms w/o pesticides and certified organic. Aged 10 months and did not undergo malolactic fermentation. Pale gold straw with aromas of stone, tropical fruit and citrus. On the palate apple, melon and pear flavors, with some orange zest and toasty notes. Nice balance with acidity on lingering finish on a spicy mineral ending. Not your typical CA Chard, very nice! — 8 years ago
For not being much of a Zin drinker, this is good! — 9 years ago
Right on the money with this Riesling! Straw in color and star bright. Nose was filled with lemon-lime, honeydew, Granny Smith apples, wild honey, citrus blossom, ginger, and new plastic pool toy aromas. The palate was extremely well balanced and the acidity was high and puckering. The tart lemon and lime flavors held through the finish. The finish was surprisingly long, and it was a nice medium-minus body. This Riesling provides a solid compliment to spicy sushi and spicy foods. It holds up strong and has a lot of backbone. All in all, this is your Riesling if you are looking for a refreshing, acidic, dry breath of fresh air. Instant favorite of mine! Washington dry Rieslings are spectacular. Cheers! — 9 years ago

Popped and poured. Light straw color, lots of bubbles and energy. Notes of light citrus, stones, minerals, green apples, cut pears and some quince. Young and vibrant in the mouth. Great texture and a great bottle. I love the 04 vintage… need to find some more as my stash has quickly dwindled. — 5 years ago
Straw with stone fruit aromas and sweet toasty spice. On the palate crisp green apple, pear and peach fruit flavors with waft of vanilla spice. This wine is medium-bodied, with nice buttery mouthfeel, smooth & creamy. Medium+ finish balanced with lively acidity and fruit adding toasty ending. Consistent quality. — 6 years ago
Intensely flavored and deep with a vicious and concentrated texture. Baked apples and peaches, honeycake and marzipan. Long and balanced finish. — 7 years ago
Got my hands on a ‘14, excited b/c the blend changes each vintage; 79% Chardonnay, 8% Viognier, 5% Grenache Blanc, 5% Marsanne, 2% Muscat, and 1% Roussanne aged in 40% new French oak for 9 mos. Bright straw, aromas of stone & tropical fruits with floral spice. The palate shows flavors of white peach, melon and apple with hints of lemon zest and honeysuckle. The wine is well balanced with integrated oak, crisp, lively acidity and a long finish ending with a mineral edge. — 7 years ago
Went out to dinner and saw this on the wine list and was hard to look elsewhere. In southern Burgundy, at the northern border of Beaujolais, lies the Pouilly-Fuisse appellation. Pale straw with nice gold edges and aromas of citrus and stone fruits with a slight nutty character. On the palate grapefruit and peach flavors with lemon zest notes, showing subtle oak tones. The finish has lively acidity and ends with a touch of minerality. — 8 years ago
Light straw, no premox. White flowers, lemon, saline, mineral. Med + acidity but with a fat mid-palate and very rich — 10 years ago
Pale straw color. Fresh cut grass, green peppers, puckering, grapefruit, beautiful wine. — 10 years ago
Pours straw in color. Citrus grapefruit-like aromas with some grass. Reminds us of Sauvignon Blanc. Some pithiness to the flavors along with some more grass and citrus maybe a hint of pear. A crisp wine with a medium to light body and a medium finish. Rating is tough since this is not our typical grape so we will go with what people who know the varietal as to not beat up the score — 10 years ago
Craggy Range is a family owned winery established in 1997. Pale straw with stone and citrus fruit aromas with hints of honey sweetness. On the palate dry, with lively fruit, gooseberry, lime, melon and pronounced grapefruit flavors with subtle herb tones, vivid acidity, crisp and refreshing. Long smooth finish ending with a mineral tones. Nice value! Ready to drink now! Love the ‘19. — 5 years ago
Wasn’t looking for a CA bubbly but glad I found this. Nice straw colored. Crispy pear and lime dominate but there’s lots of secondary flavors too including a nutty earthy tinge at the end. Rich yet dry and good acidity. I’ll be back. — 6 years ago
Finally an evening on the deck not wearing a sweatshirt! Let’s begin Chardonnay week. Bright straw color, wish I could give a nose description but too many of my lovely city neighbors are grilling and all I smell is charred steak fat. Coating mouth- this is excellent. — 8 years ago

Light Straw Colour, micro bubbles with lemon and green apple hints. — 8 years ago

Jack and Jamie Davies revived the historic vineyards and cellars in 1965, with a mission to produce California's first world-class sparkling wines. Today, led by their son Hugh, continues with this commitment to quality. A 100% Chardonnay, straw yellow with aromas of stone and citrus fruits, with floral scents. A terrific sparkler shows crisp green apple, orange and grapefruit zest. A medium-bodied, wine with a great mousse, tiny bubbles and nice length on the finish ending with some crisp mineral notes. — 9 years ago
Very pale straw color. Super fragrant rose petals lead to a sweet honeysuckle and melons. Goseberry and grassy note come through as it warmed up. Minerality and acidity give way to dense and velvety fruit. Taste of oak on the finish. A little creamy with a backbone. Very complex wine with great balance. — 10 years ago
2012 vintage... Pale straw/gold color... Bosc pear on nose w hint of oak... Palate maintains nice acidity, tending towards green apple. I would guess non-MLF with partial new French oak — 11 years ago

Star bright straw gold. Abundant funky nose of burning citrus and funghi. Medium palate is much cleaner than the nose yielding toasted lemon, white guava, and white pepper with a bit of birch on the finish. Medium plus acidity. Medium finish. A fine example of California Fumé style SB. Okay as a sipper, but built for a meal. Swordfish and scallops come racing to mind, but any white fleshed fish or shellfish should pair wonderfully. Or just upscale your fried chicken. It’s good for that, too. Drink now through 2024. — 4 years ago
