Smells like there is going to be more oaky and fruity than it actually is. This is very refined. Very dry. Plums, red berries, olives, black pepper, mint, I have to give the Catena family credit for crafting wines in this style. Maybe a bit pricey, but good quality indeed. — 3 years ago
Simply delicious. Nice fruit nice finish very happy right now — 4 years ago
Popped and poured. Light straw color, lots of bubbles and energy. Notes of light citrus, stones, minerals, green apples, cut pears and some quince. Young and vibrant in the mouth. Great texture and a great bottle. I love the 04 vintage… need to find some more as my stash has quickly dwindled. — 5 years ago
Very fresh with still some good fruit. — 5 years ago
I couldn’t pass up picking up a bottle of the “Sideways” 20th anniversary bottling of Hitching Post’s Highliner. Aside from the movie recognition, it’s a damn good Pinot, though a bit heavier in style than others. Vivid, fresh flavors of cranberry and cherry with a bit of spice. Delicious. Fruit sourced from three different vineyards in Santa Barbara County. 100% Pinot Noir. 4/28/25. — 7 months ago

Smooth full bodied with dark berry fruit, well balanced, drinking well now and maybe 2-3 more years when we’ll stored. — 3 years ago
The Stones Speak. Did they ever! Full bodied, dense concentrates of decaying fall leaves after a fresh rain shower drenched in minerals, fine polished fully integrated tannins almost leaving a sweet edge. All secondary and tertiary notes. No distinct fruit to be recognized. It was like drinking extracts squeezed from the river rock on which they grow the Syrah. A flavor explosion as soon as it hits your mouth. — 4 years ago

Nice and easy flowing. I got this one because I miss eating and having there wine. Damn this COVId!!! — 5 years ago

Not sure there are better 13 whites than Raveneau. Lafon also comes to mind. It’s an early drinking vintage (by Raveneau standards) while you wait for 12 and 14, and no Chapelot this year so it’s blended in here. A multi-hour decant has it showing superbly, wafting layers of créme fraîche, baking spice, crushed stones and a touch of botrytis influenced saffron. The palate shows immense power, concentration and depth of waxy yellow fruit chiseled with Chablisen minerality, brilliant tension and racy lemony acids. MDT always hits 🫰🏻 — 6 months ago
