Neptunite Rosé Blend 2022

Slightly funky watermelon 🍉, herbal for sure, but then Jolly Ranchers, 🤔 Interesting blend! 82% Chardonnay, 9% Pinot Noir, 9% Riesling. Just enough Pinot to put this into rosé territory I guess lol — 9 months ago

El Gabilan Cienega Valley Cabernet Pfeffer 2021

Light, smooth, and creamy, not much “pfeffer” (pepper) really. Like cherry whipped cream 😋 Ordered direct from Stirm, who apparently is a leading cabernet pfeffer winery, given how rare it is 🤔 — 7 months ago

Calcite Riesling Blend 2020

This California guy makes really nice whites and this is a stupid deal for 18$. When I got the wine first it was disjointed. This has changed. This 88% Riesling 6% Chard. And 6% Scheurebe - I an surprised this even exist in CA is a standout white and no surprise sold out. Wild apples, and a potpourri of aromatics like passionfruit, peach, overripe Meyer lemon. If you can find a bottle try it. Clocks in at just 12.2%. — 2 years ago

Had this wine tonight. Had some pretty healthy acidity. The main characteristics I get are a flinty and pencil shaving note with some raspberry backbone. Good with food.

San Benito County Cabernet Pfeffer 2020

Nice reminds me of Trousseau. Licorice nose, Raspberries, touch white pepper, touch sweet although stats say 0%, it must be the fruit, very nicely done. My wife - first ‘huh’ then it is actually not bad. Geek wine but fun. Sells out so fast there is so little just some tiny vineyards in CA. William Pfeffer apparently planted it it’s an ancient variant from Bordeaux. — 2 years ago
