This has Sonoma and Monterey county grapes to go with the Santa in it. Classy label with a Celtic knot on it. Light, bright ruby red color. Smells like Pinot Noir. Hints of redwood bark meets red berries and wet rocks. Flavors are well balanced and complex. Bit fruit driven, but there is a bittersweet side here too. The blend of three locales worked out pretty well, and they didn’t just write ‘California’ which is nice. — 2 years ago
Dusty mouth feel with some dark deep sensual fruit on the pallet. Cheery and plum explode on the nose. Eating with a nice ribeye with some chimichurri. — 4 years ago
Deep purple in color with a cloudy purplish rim.
Strong fruity nose of black plums, black cherries, black currants, chocolates, oak, earth, light vanilla, spices, graphite, light barnyard, vegetables and black pepper.
Full bodied with medium acidity and long skinny legs.
Dry on the palate with blueberries, plums, currants, oak, vanilla, chocolates, licorice, cloves, spices, tobacco, herbs, light vegetables, olives, pencil lead and peppercorn.
Nice length on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a very nice, and Fruit forward, Syrah from Napa Valley.
Nicely balanced and good by itself as a sipping wine. Rich and extracted.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 3 hours in a decanter, when complexity shows up.
This 3 year old is still young, and will age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.
I paired it with cheeses and fresh fruits.
100% Syrah grapes.
14% alcohol by volume.

RD Winery Hundred Knot Grenache 2019 Sonoma Valley, California
Purple in color with a wide reddish rim.
Sweet nose of cherries, blueberries, sweet strawberries, licorice, oak, tobacco, vanilla, chocolates, spices and black pepper.
Medium bodied with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with cherries, red currants, oak, tobacco, earth, spices, licorice, peppercorn, chocolates and coffee.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a very enjoyable Grenache from Sonoma Valley. Nicely balanced and fruit forward. Easy drinking and good by itself or with food.
Showing mild complexity with a nice, soft mouthfeel. Light and engaging and a good summer wine. A nice light chill would be a good idea.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up and brings in more structure.
Alcohol is nicely integrated already, so watch out.
Would be nice to see how this evolves in the next 3 years.
I had it by the pool with some dried meats, fresh berries and cheeses.
A blend of Grenache, Mourvedre and Syrah. Aged in French oak barrels for 18 months (20% new).
15% alcohol by Volume.
91 points.
