Deep purple in color with a cloudy purplish rim.
Strong fruity nose of black plums, black cherries, black currants, chocolates, oak, earth, light vanilla, spices, graphite, light barnyard, vegetables and black pepper.
Full bodied with medium acidity and long skinny legs.
Dry on the palate with blueberries, plums, currants, oak, vanilla, chocolates, licorice, cloves, spices, tobacco, herbs, light vegetables, olives, pencil lead and peppercorn.
Nice length on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a very nice, and Fruit forward, Syrah from Napa Valley.
Nicely balanced and good by itself as a sipping wine. Rich and extracted.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 3 hours in a decanter, when complexity shows up.
This 3 year old is still young, and will age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.
I paired it with cheeses and fresh fruits.
