Wow. Just wow
It starts off kinda like a deep and dark Rhône wine with a sweetness and kirsch like flavor but then in the palate it just explodes about 4-5 second later and there is a whole different level of expression.
Wine was best at about 1.5-2 hour decant and actually better without food. — 2 months ago
Выпито 03.05.25 у Савваса дома. Это просто шедевр. Шикарный шираз 2016 года. — 2 months ago
Whoa, what a sublime presentation. Nose displays tobacco leaves, ripe cherries and a dusting of cedar.
Palate is regal - the definition of smooth. Raspberries everywhere. Immature tannins suggest that this should be left for a while. Nice weight and texture leads into a smooth maple syrup finish. Spice box also coming thru after exposure to air. Thank you, Rick.

One of the faves for Shiraz. Big, bold, yet easy to drink. Punchy with black and red fruits, not to tannic. — 7 months ago
Earthy, natty, bright acidity and tannins, tart cherry, white pepper. Opens up quickly. Very pleasant. — a month ago
See previous notes for the 2006 Stonewell. Supple and smooth showing masses of plum and blackberry from old vine Barossa Shiraz. Aniseed/liquorice notes. A certain astringency to finish off. A good but not great Stonewell. I could have left drinking this until its 20th year next year but I don’t think it would be any different. — 2 months ago
Blend of Grenache (65%), Shiraz (20%) and Mataro (15%). Bright garnet color with a ruby core. Aromas of red berries, dried violets, dried earth and cedar. Complex flavors of dried cherries and raspberries, red currants, black tea, Asian spices, black olives and tobacco. Long lasting savory and tangy finish. Silky texture, well balanced acidity and nicely integrated soft tannins. — 3 months ago
Everything about this wine is DARK. Deep ruby/purple color bordering on black. Aromas of black and blue fruit, Asian spices and coffee. Flavors of cooked black berry/plum/currant fruit, bakers chocolate, tar and espresso. Hint of black pepper on the long, lingering and silky finish. Extremely concentrated with lively acidity. Tannins are firm but in harmony. This is a wine you quickly take notice of. Probably at (or just past) its peak. Thanks for the wonderful gift, Petey P! — 4 months ago
Juicy dark fruit, complimented by black pepper, rich. — 6 months ago
Penfolds reds like this age at glacial pace even from a not so great vintage like 2007. Not much change after 5 years. Red and black fruits- choc/mocha - good concentration - tannins starting to soften after 18 years. Could keep cellaring up to 2030 and beyond. — 2 months ago
May 2025: PnP, very solid, bold, and dense. At peak. Black fruit. Awesome! — 7 years ago

Delicious ‘syrah’ style shitaz from McLaren Vale. Not overdone; lovely balanced structure with blueberry and plum fruit. — 3 months ago
" A full-bodied wine shows ripe dark fruit aromas, voluminous richness and plentiful tannins." — 3 months ago
We had the 2012 Vintage on 2/14-15/25. An excellent Syray with tastes of blackberry, plum, mocha, leather and spice. As time went on the bouquet developed eucalyptus. Full bodied, New World. Fruit forward. I’m glad I gave it 13 years in the bottle. — 5 months ago

Ripe blackberry jam, black fruits, violets and milk chocolate on the nose and palate. Light notes of leather and smoke are also present. Should pair well with mint & cumin lamb chops. — a month ago
