Seneca Lake, Finger Lakes

Red Newt Cellars

Sawmill Creek Vineyards Riesling 2009

Citrus and peach, slate, some honey and petrol, tastes botrytized, still lively, with nice weight, a tick off dry. Yummy 😋 — a month ago

Seneca Lake Dry Riesling 2016

Paired nicely with Thai chicken curry. Medium gold color. Petrol and plastic on the nose. White grapes, ample sweetness, and a touch of lead on the palate. Past prime as it is lacking acidity and zip. Medium finish and heavy wine for a Riesling. — 2 months ago

Cabernet Franc 2020

Nice sippable red from Finger Lakes. Some of their reds are hit or miss but this one was nice and got better over 4-5 days open. Hints of raspberry, chocolate, and slightly woody but not tanic. — 2 months ago

Estate Bottled Dry Riesling 2013

Very smooth with that plastic hose Riesling aspect. Still very fresh. Long finish. — 2 months ago

Dry Classique Seneca Lake Riesling 2019

Prominent non-fruit aromas with honey and blossoms (jasmine and slate per MM), dry with a rounder body and medium acidity (lower for a Riesling). Blind Reisling tasting w Doo. — 5 months ago

Dry Estate Vineyard Riesling 2020

Picked up 3 at the Vineyard. Deep wine with honey, massive floral elements, pine, and very subtle petrol. Not a classic Riesling and more of a Viognier in my mind. Unique and enjoyable. — 2 months ago
