A classic. 100% Viura from the Zaconia vineyard, located right outside López de Heredia’s winery in Haro. Fermented in ancient oak vats with indigenous yeasts and aged in used barrels for four years, followed by another 6 years in bottle. Complex nose with oxidative notes. Chamomile, flowers, beeswax, lemon curd. Austere on the mouth, with great acidity and freshness. Long, subtly salty finish. Amazing — 5 years ago
Founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga Martínez, now run by children Manuel, Isabel & Isaac Muga Caño. Deep Ruby, aromas of sweet red and black fruits with pepper spice, unmistakable Muga. 4 grape blend from the Haro district (70% Tempranillo, rest Garnacha, Mazuelo & Graciano), palate shows cherry and currant flavors with espresso, vanilla & toasty oak tones. Soft full tannins, lively acidity on a medium+ finish ending with an earthy mineral character. Nice value! Great vintage! — 6 years ago

Extremely good with hot honey chicken! — 6 years ago
The 2013 Bodega Classica Lopez de Haro Reserva is medium dark in the glass. The nose is aromatic with violets, cigars, ripe plums and earth. On the palate, we find big, dark fruit, oak spice and a meaty black olive note. Tannins are firm and the acidity is lively, so it's great to sip as well as have it with some steak. — 8 years ago

Rich, intense red fruit, ripe backyard-grown raspberries, green olive, camphor, beautiful balance and intrigue. A distinctive one, for sure. — 6 years ago
This was great. Style held up well to (Vintage meathook!) steak and was a good value on the restaurant wine list. Tannins worked well with steak but we’re more robust than I expected. Improved with some air. — 6 years ago

100% Grenache from Madrid. Huge on the organics. Smoke, Earth and rubber on the nose. Earthy and minerals on the pallet. Jammy Fruit notes are prevalent on the mid-pallet. Complex and bold. Best with food. Quite a unique expression of an Old World wine. — 6 years ago

Miniscule production of high elevation, old-vine, single vineyard Mencia. A lukewarm first run with this producer. Light-to-medium red. Dark-fruited and earthy, with good energy and tight-knit tannins. Finishes with a bean-like character which I often see in natural wines that's got a little too much air. I'm not fond of the character, but if you can get past that, it's a nice tipple. — 4 years ago
