I bought this bottle after I ran 42km in Valencia Marathon… so it’s a great memory for me.
Anyway, as I tasted it I suddenly thought to be in a tapas bar eating some delicious Spanish food.

This wine is dark garnet in the glass. Aromas of blackberry, plum, and cassis grace the nose, along with some oak spice. The palate has plenty of dark fruit, a savory edge, and very firm tannins. It pairs nicely with any kind of beef, especially a steak with lots of fat. I also tried it with a spicy pasta dish, but I found that the tannins fought with the spice a little too much. Beef that has been salted and peppered is the better choice. — 3 months ago
Blend of Chardonnay (50%), Semillon (35%) and Sauvignon Blanc (15%). Bright yellow color with green highlights. Aromas and flavors of pears, unripe peach, green melon, roasted nuts, honey, white flowers, cream and beeswax. Light touch of oak on the long, slightly spicy and bold finish. Fresh, with crisp acidity. Beautifully balanced and nicely layered. Creamy texture. Outstanding quality! Wine of the night at the Luigi Bosca Tasting. Revisited in February 2025. Simply delicious. — 6 months ago
Sangiovese, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah.
Easy drinking, plenty of red fruit, nice tannin structure from Cab. Tannins could mellow a few months more, but totally approachable now, mid-weight tannin. Being from one of my favorite regions, I find it hard to hold onto wines for long. — 3 years ago
Medium ruby in color; raspberries, stewed strawberries, and smoke on the nose; medium plus acidity; medium tannins; tastes like blood oranges, hibiscus, asphalt with a long finish. Needs a long decant. It starts out reductive. Nellie says it's ok and I like it. — 3 months ago

Even better than the crazy-good 2007, the 2015 La Sangre de Jonata is sheer perfection in a glass and up with the finest Syrahs ever made in California! Checking in as a blend of 97% Syrah and 3% Viognier, aged in barrel, its saturated purple color is followed by out of this world aromatics black raspberries, smoked earth, graphite, game, violets and freshly crushed rock-like minerality. — 3 months ago
