Sherry deliciousness - what else do you want? Like eating almonds on the beach - has a nutty saltwater quality to it with nice acidity. — 8 years ago

starting my first Dr Konstantin Frank lineup with his Finger Lanes Gewurztraminer. nose dominated by fresh lychee. getting some some tropical melon and lemon rind, and a little bit of saltwater. tropical is the theme for me. similar on the palate. a very nice win at a bargain price. — 5 years ago
Rich smells of milk chocolate, ripe blackberries brambles and fresh blueberries, with hints of white mushroom, tart cherry, and saltwater taffy. Medium-light weight, deep opaque red with rich oily umami mouthfeel and light red fruits like cherry and plum on the palate, and soft well polished black tea tannins lingering nicely on the finish. Very interesting red, like a poor-mans-Ho-Brion (😉), would probably go well with tomato-cream sauce dishes and grilled meats or great by itself. Great value — 6 years ago
Joyful perfumed deep ruby rosato. Mountain flowers, lava rock, cherries, saltwater taffy, blood orange. From 80+ year old vines at high elevations, using native yeasts and long aging in stainless steel tanks. Valcerasa wines are as breathtaking as Etna itself. — 7 years ago
Delightful. Chewy like a fresh saltwater taffy. Wonderful plum and blackberry with hints of oak and cola. Berge made a great vintage with this one. Nice job broham. Excellent. — 8 years ago
Delicious cherry flavor with strong hints of saltwater. — 8 years ago
Wow. Crazy good, surprising minerality, saltwater lemon taffy, but leaves any trace of sweetness on the nose. Paired well with ginger/citrus/coconut/chicken soup. Thanks Emil, Im glad these vines exist because this was fucking delicious. — 8 years ago
Really lovely rosé. White cherry, floral and saltwater notes. Creamy finish to a well-rounded, medium-bodied Provençal rosé. Will look forward to enjoying all summer! — 10 years ago
Pale salmon all seashell and saltwater on the nose. So we have both river and ocean in one glass, boom. Jumpy but fine bubbles and same as nose but add in lilacs and raspberries so we are moving from water to land. Then the bubbles burst upon the tongue and we have sky. Am I missing any element? Nah, this is fire.
Well-priced fire to boot. Trentodoc I see you.
Update: just realized I reviewed this before but that was in relation to pairing with pizza. Which is fabulous at. But love it solo too! — 6 years ago

Okay,
Lovely complex fruit... Mixed berry jam? Guava jelly? Slight elegant tannins. Saline... I’ve never actually had saltwater taffy but... — 6 years ago
As you can see I’m at wu’s wonton with Bill and the gruner is GREAT with the crab fried rice and peanut shrimp and spring rolls dripping with oil. Acidic and sizzly, lots of saltwater and apple juice. Mission accomplished. — 8 years ago
Very fresh and clean. Strawberries, melons, saltwater. 🍓🍉 — 8 years ago
Great expression. Very bright and alive. Layers of tobacco and raspberry saltwater taffy, rich and structured with mouthwatering finish. So good right now. Rockin' and ready for many more years in the cellar. 92% PV 8%CS — 9 years ago

2021/4/29-30 with Nanjing saltwater duck, etc. Normally I don’t go for wines with international varieties from places like Chianti (and Panzano no less), but I came across this without knowing what was in it and had been wanting to try something from Montefili. It was pretty good - and the Cabernet Franc (which might be my favorite of the French varieties in Tuscany due to Ampeleia) hit the spot when I wanted something to go with duck. It had the brambly cassis and green tobacco, with some cherry from the Sangiovese. Was best on day 1 - was a little plain on day 2. — 5 years ago
