Delightful, well-balanced SB. Green apple, freshly mown grass, and the faintest green pepper. A bit of minerally zip like a light rain on gravel. — 9 months ago

Slight yellow color with aromas of lemon, apple, and a bit of minerality. On the bud, it rich with a nice body and acidity. Green apple tartness with a medium finish.
Yes, this is in the Burgundy region not too far from Chablis. Saint-Bris is the only place you can get a Sauvignon Blanc in Burgundy. — 4 months ago
Rich full body, lovely acidity, stone fruit with hints of nut and sherry, soft tannins — 7 months ago

My kinda sauv. Pair with goat cheese. — 6 years ago
A nice, dry, restrained sauvignon blanc. No great sweetness. No great sourness. It went amazing with the traditional Burgundy cuisine we enjoyed this evening in town. — 7 years ago

Chalky lemony nose. Very mineral. Some gun powder too. The palate is very balanced and more Chablis than Sauvignon from the Loire valley. Texture, depth, acidity, a bit of a grip and some salt lingering around the finish. Like drinking stones. The good ones — 8 years ago
@delectable: this is a 100% Sauvignon Blanc — 4 months ago
My first Saint-Bris! Pale lemon yellow color. Plush aromas of citrus fruit, white flowers, chalk and abundant fresh herbs. Flavors of unripe peach, all those savory herbs, green apple and lemon zest. Noticeable mineral backbone on the long and drawn out finish. Lively and crisp acidity. Medium-minus body and wonderful freshness. Vibrant and harmonious! There are Chablis comparisons here. Another example of outstanding white burgundy! — 6 months ago
Nice notes of melon and vanilla with balanced acidity and a mineral touch — 4 years ago
— 7 years ago

Domaine Gabrielle Vivien – Saint-Bris AOC 2023
100% Sauvignon Blanc – Burgundy, France 🇫🇷
Overview
One of Burgundy’s best-kept secrets. Saint-Bris is the region’s only appellation dedicated to Sauvignon Blanc. Sourced from 25-year-old vines planted on Kimmeridgian limestone soils just west of Chablis, this wine delivers remarkable precision, minerality, and freshness while offering a distinctly Burgundian interpretation of the variety.
Aromas & Flavors
Vibrant aromas of lime zest, grapefruit, white flowers, and freshly cut herbs open the nose. The palate is crisp and energetic, revealing citrus, green apple, subtle gooseberry, and distinctive wet stone minerality that builds beautifully toward a long, savory finish.
Mouthfeel
Medium-bodied with lively acidity and remarkable tension. The texture is sleek and elegant, balancing freshness with a persistent mineral backbone that keeps every sip engaging.
Food Pairings
Outstanding with grilled mahi-mahi, oysters, ceviche, goat cheese, sushi, or herb-roasted chicken.
Verdict
A fascinating expression of Sauvignon Blanc that combines the grape’s aromatic character with Burgundy’s unmistakable sense of place. Elegant, mineral-driven, and wonderfully food-friendly.
Did You Know?
Saint-Bris is the only appellation in Burgundy where Sauvignon Blanc is the authorized flagship grape, making it a unique exception in a region otherwise dominated by Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
🍷 Personal Pick
One of my favorite Sauvignon Blancs. I love how it expresses the grape from soils traditionally devoted to Chardonnay, proving that Burgundy can still surprise me. The 2023 continues that beautiful tradition with freshness, elegance, and unmistakable character. — an hour ago
