Tasted blind. Medium gold color. Killer old white burg nose. Notes of lemon creme, white dry soil, some spice, a little honey. Rich and powerful in the mouth. Some fine acidity on the finish causes some pucker. Very interesting overall profile, and my guess is I’ve never had this before which is accurate. I go with a 95 Corton Charlie as a guess. The power and great mouthfeel expanded as this absorbed air over the afternoon. Each sip better than the last. — 4 years ago
Tasted blind. Light tawny and translucent. Old wine nose. Notes of soft delicate red fruit, light rhubarb, some mushroom and some sweet cherries. In the mouth it’s missing impact and energy. Acidity is very light. Past it’s prime, although I wonder if this was open too long as the host said it was singing when opened, but then had 6 hrs in the decanter. Guessed mid 60s red burg. — 5 years ago

Drinking the tail end of another dinner here. Losing a bit of vigour after two days opened, but still showing heaps of textural richness and chewy energetic fruit. Plums, cranberries, spice, and earthy nuances. Impressively long finish. Wow! Sadly, the bouquet was the let down, whereby the expectedly floral notes have disappeared at this stage and a light musk has started developing. Nevertheless, I can’t discount that this was an excellent aperitif. — 2 years ago
super interesting expression, not too much toast, lemon, good acid, amber color — 4 years ago
Tiny hint of reduction but beyond that it is super floral and with loads of cherry fruit. Iron, very mineral. Elemental stuff. Dusty and very very refined. Hit of licorice. Really alluring nose. Just stunning. These wines give nothing in their youth and then the blossom. Stunningly fresh and vibrant with still some tannic grip but wonderful balance and depth. Saps your palate and tales of over. This is truly on its way to being great. It’s long and saline and has floral echoes on the finish. Profound. But with age, 3-6 more years, this will be lights out. — 5 years ago
I thought I was just getting a taste of this earlier in the day, but ended up with an invite to the dinner where it was served.
Over the course of 6 hours the different parts came together into a beautiful herbal vosne with a strong herbal Leroy fingerprint. I like seeing successful results of a good long decant. — 6 years ago
Dusty patina (like walking through a Japanese temple) pomegranate and cranberry. Mixed white and black peppercorns. Uplifting acid (in a good way) that super complements food. TBL — 2 years ago
