Quinta Da Fonte Do Douro

Quinta do Noval

Vintage Port Blend 1985

Last had about 2 years ago. Really a lovely port. Flowers and cherries on the very expressive nose. Tons of candied cherry on the palate. Very long mouth staining finish. Excellent acid and just a bit of bitterness (in a nice way). — 2 days ago

Quinta da Fonte Bela

Paxis Red Blend 2020

The Sangiovese was out so we landed on this one. No regrets. Smells a bit astringent but with lots of vanilla and strawberry. Very fruity, medium bodied. A solid wine, especially for $18 at a restaurant. — 6 months ago

Quinta do Vesuvio Porto 2017

Deep Ruby with aromas of fresh, ripe dark fruit and notes of sweet cacao and spice, blend of Touriga Nacional 60%, Touriga Franca 30% and Sousão 10%, and at 113 grams per liter of residual sugar. On the palate pronounced flavors of blackberry, ripe plum and currants with notes of cacao and espresso. Well balanced, fine tannins, still tight, long finish ending with ripe juicy fruit, spice and earthy character. Very Nice! I would wait another 5 years! — 7 months ago

Super velvety, light to medium body but still very plump. Very long finish. Would drink! — 3 months ago

Quinta do Vale Meão

Meandro Douro Red Blend 2020

Dark red purple. Inviting nose and medium full, fruit-forward (for a European) palate of blueberry-blackberry compote. Bright medium acidity and medium minus tannins that mostly assert back-palate. Dark and slightly bitter finish (Touriga Nacional showing). Fine example of Portuguese non-Porto red. Ready for hearty entrées like roasted beef or pork. Drink now through 2028. — 4 months ago

@Peter van den Besselaar, I almost opened one of these today, opened the 1977 Warre’s instead.
