Guava, wet grass, green pepper and herbs on the nose, tart and crisp minerality with a light prickly ness - goes down easy and wonderfully. — 6 years ago
Mourvèdre madness. Petrichor, chewing tobacco, black pepper. Very prickly. Great with steak. — 6 years ago
P&H was founded in 1988 by industry professionals Donald Patz, James Hall, Anne Moses and Heather Patz. This is my second try of the 2015, just wonderful! Aromas of fresh ripe stone fruits and flinty and floral notes. On the palate fresh fruit flavors of apple, pear and sweet pineapple with savory toasty oak tones. Lingering finish ends with tangy citrus and smoky mineral notes. Outstanding. — 7 years ago
Big primitivo from Manduria grown on sandy soil! Smells almost maderized as it goes from jammy plum and raspberry to prickly pear and jalepeño jam with a twisted soy brininess emanating cedar and ripe heat! Full-bodied sasparilla reduction with a blanket of dried blackberry soaked in cola and then reduced. Over-browned coffee cake comes to mind, if the burnt sugars manifested drily with a cinnamon stick and plum reduction indelibility. The Mandurian candied-date! #primitivo #manduria #italianwines #Dunico #felline #Recemi #fruitbomb — 8 years ago
This is freakin' delicious. Bright, crisp. Very aromatic, dried underripe cantalope on the nose. Bitter on the palate. Smacking minerality and a prickly mid palate. Really in line with the other 2014 Austrian wines I've tasted...restrained, seamless structure, subtle. Must have been a colder year, as the 2015s are much richer. I love this. Perfect for summer if you need an alternative to Sancerre or base level Bourgogne. — 8 years ago

P&H was founded in 1988 by industry professionals Donald Patz, James Hall, Anne Moses and Heather Patz. Aromas of fresh ripe stone fruits, honey, nutty and floral notes. On the palate fresh fruit flavors of apple, pear and sweet pineapple with savory toasty oak tones. Lingering finish ends with creamy fruit and oaky mineral notes. A bit rounder than previous vintages. Wonderful. — 6 years ago
Green apples, lemon curd, pear purée, quince paste, sea shells, creme fraiche, saline. Electric acidity, prickly compact bubbles, light froth/body, crisp dry tangy-briny finish. Base wine showing signs of complexity, acid driven and highly food friendly. Deceptively complex despite its youth. — 7 years ago
Oh yeah baby. Gimme that Brett. Gimme that funk. Nose was like horse manure and wet dog. Palate had juicy cherry fruit, sharp acidity, and almost a prickly frizzante. Barnyard is more a well integrated nuance than a dominant trait. Still quite good. — 8 years ago

Zesty with a prickly mouthfeel. Lemon, apple with hint of hazelnut. Beautiful wine. 2009, $139 — 8 years ago
Sunny and juicy. Almost sweet, but a little acid and - especially - mineral keep it in check. Generally round, a touch prickly, and closes drier. Doesn't keep up with a monster blue, but complements a milder Humboldt Fog well. — 6 years ago
Peppery, prickly ripe red fruit with a strong whiff of cured meat. — 7 years ago

Beautiful dark transparent ruby. Nose is pulverized clay, wet earth, grilled berries, red cherries and asian spice. Palate has red fruits and some prickly tannins. Elegant, rustic and lean. Long with brisk tartness. Great food wine — 4 years ago
