Fruit forward, light tannin.

Very solid Loire Sauvignon Blanc. Steep Hill Importer-I like their portfolio as seems to emphasize true to type varietals. Nothing flashy, just good ol fashioned terroir. — 4 years ago
Oldest in the Penfolds portfolio, Wine includes fruit from Barossa, McLaren Vale, Padthaway, Adelaide and Wrattonbully vineyards. Deep Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruits with earthy spice. On the palate ripe blackberry, plum and dried cherry flavors with cacao, espresso and black pepper. Vivid acidity, rich ripe fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit and spice, nice! — 5 years ago
One of the earliest viticultural inhabitants of Marlborough, the Giesen Brothers offer a fantastic portfolio - including a Pinot Noir from the pedigreed Clayvin Vineyard. When it comes to value in New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, however, it's hard to beat Giesen's entry-level. Tart, clean, and mineral - it tastes of sea water-splashed bell peppers, mixed with cold grapefruit slices and cilantro. — 7 years ago
That went fast, too fast. Probably would’ve enjoyed it more of it was decanted.

Not quite as focused as the Les Clos and Butteaux, but still very enjoyable.
Servin have demonstrated to us that they have a strong wine portfolio. — 3 years ago
The 2019 La Fleur-Pétrus is pure and total seduction. Trotanoy and perhaps also Hosanna have traditionally been viewed as more exclusive Pomerols in the Moueix portfolio. The more time passes, the less I share that view. Sure, La Fleur-Pétrus does not have the mystique associated from a small single vineyard - as many Pomerols do - and yet there is no denying the elegance and class here. Bright red fleshed fruit, blood orange and exotic spice race across the palate, framed by silky, plush tannins that wrap it all together. La Fleur-Pétrus is fabulous. That's all there is to it. 80% Grenache, 20% Syrah
Nice wine brand to explore. In the voice of Pauly Shore “astrological... buddy”.
Needs 3 hr decant (journey along the way was very interesting, with lots of plot twists, and interesting views).
Nice fruit level, red and dark berry, black plum, persimmon (?mushiness on the tip of tounge?), rocks, cement, bitter, medium tannin.
Im down, eager to explore more of the portfolio. Very nice CDR. — 5 years ago
Harder than other wines in the line up. Enormous structure and hard youth, roasting pig and bacon, hot chili pepper, some humming acid and quite assertive tannin. Although 20 plus years old, some of the youngest vines in Ridge’s portfolio and showing their ruggedness. Great, rustic, ballsy. — 7 years ago
Tried it at a portfolio tasting and the wine was phenomenal. A blend of 30% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir, and 40% Pinot Meunier. Delicious red fruit but not too sweet. — 8 years ago
Dense, luscious, and suddenly gone. Great expression of the varietal, and a relative value for the portfolio. — 8 years ago
Pure decadence! Initial impressions of lemon custard rippled heavily with pure sweet vanilla eventually give way to flavors of baked apricots and peaches.
Luc Morlet, the previous wine maker from Peter Michael, certainly knows how to make a good wine. A few of you that have posted other wines from their portfolio can vouch on the increasing difficulty to find their allocations. Definitely buy when you find! — 3 years ago
Last ‘16. Founded in 1973 in the Sonoma Valley, Chateau St. Jean produces an extensive portfolio of Sonoma County wine, including the award winning Cinq Cépages, a Bordeaux style blend of “five varieties." From various vineyards on Sonoma, wine shows black fruit aromas and sweet spice. On the palate ripe fruit flavors of blackberry and cherry with cinnamon and cacao. Tannins are fine with balanced acidity on long finish. — 3 years ago
Very nice! The nose is straight out of the a Wagner portfolio. — 4 years ago
I’ve come to really enjoy the entire portfolio of wines from Long Shadows, and while the reds are a bit more up my alley, this is really difficult to beat for the price. I think I enjoyed the 2016 a bit more, but I think this will hold longer.
Made in an off-dry style, there is a tinge of sweetness that reminds me more of German Riesling than Alsatian Riesling. At pop, there was a slight note of petrol on the nose but it dissipated by day two. Honeyed stone fruits, apricot and crushed limestone also show up aromatically. On the palate, it’s mineral/slate driven with some lemon-lime, lychee and zippy acidity. Touch of sweetness doesn’t arrive until the very back end of the palate. Best enjoyed around cellar temp, in my experience. — 5 years ago
Awesome one from DNWC! — 8 years ago
Another bottle from the world famous J.Gourley Wine Cellar Selections portfolio....a light, delicious Sauv Blanc with bright and refreshingly tart lemon and peach flavors...a zesty kick of spice and acidity on the backend gives it a great finish...a perfect hot weather white... — 8 years ago

Greg and Louis late evening visit. Asked for St Emilian and found this first. Surprisingly fresh tasting with good mellowed dark red fruits and balanced palate. Yum. Only bottle probably. Ancient Vineyard folded into chateau Quintus in Dillon portfolio in 2012. 40/20/20 Merlot Cab Franc Cab. — 3 years ago
