1965. Birth year wine on birthday. Pronounced nose, weak in the middle, tired at the finish. But enough about me, the wine was great. Interesting at first with ripe strawberry, cherry, forest floor, cedar notes, long finish. After opening up bell pepper flavors emerged, which was fine but others may not like. I enjoy these old bottles made by the Mondavi family, this one signed by Cesare. Enriches the experience to know you are drinking an historic, old wine made by an iconic family. — 8 years ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of several hours. The 2023 “San Bartolomeo” pours a deep ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. This really needed air and showed better after an hour+ of being open. What unfurled was an elegant and quite beautiful expression of Dolcetto showing notes of fresh black berries, blueberries, purple flowers with the stems, a mix of dried herbs and warm spices with dry gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+ and slightly savory. A precise and technically brilliant Dolcetto. Drink now through 2030. Thanks for the assist @Lyle Fass — 6 months ago

2019 vintage. Albarino from 35 years old vines close to the Umia river on predominantly sandy soils. Fermented in stainless steel and 6 months of ageing on the lees. Bright very pale yellow. Lovely perfume of lemon confit, fresh yellow prunes, with hints of quince and a distinctive minerality. Fresh taste with ripe stone fruit (prunes, peaches), very present but not aggressive acidity and some mineral salinity in the finish. Very dry with less than 1 g/l of residual sugar. Abv. 12,5%. Very good value at less than 15 euros. — 6 years ago
Very interesting nebbiolo. Garnet color, started with low aroma but opened to a complex nose. Black fruit, floral notes, licorice, plums in liquor and the tipical rustic tone that most Italian wines have. Good tannin on the mouth, very nice acidity. Good permanence in mouth. Drank it for more than 2 hours to enjoy it at its fullest. — 7 years ago
Very fine silky mild tannins, nice deep fruit. Black cherries and a hint of tar. — 8 years ago

Sparkling, clear pale lemon; on the nose, it's clean with pronounced primary and tertiary aromas of bruised yellow apples, honeysuckle, and orange blossom; on the palate, it's sweet with medium acidity, low alcohol, medium body, and pronounced primary and tertiary flavors of overripe pear, tangerine, and caramel with a long finish. This wine is complex, intense, and balanced. Overall, I rate this wine as outstanding. Nellie likes it with too. It paired well with spicy Popeyes chicken. — 5 months ago
