Petrichor on the nose. Angular citrus. Under stone fruit: nectarine, white peach. Light garden hose. Apple. Clean and refined with a medium to medium- body. Medium to medium+ acidity. Surprisingly long finish. — 7 years ago
Very nicely structured. Honeydew and petrichor on the nose. Saline minerality is dominant on the palate. You have to search for the acidity in this wine. I know Mark does 100% malo on many of his whites to avoid sterile filtration and preserve texture; which is excellent in this wine. Don't think I'd cellar too long w/ this acidity level. — 8 years ago
Petrichor and melon rind! This is delicious — 9 years ago
Decanted 2.5 hours. Intriguing nose of warm black licorice and petrichor. Sweet and floral on entry and warm spice cake on the finish. The confectionary floral notes with eucalyptus increased over time. Rosemary makes wonderful wines but for my palate this needs more time in the bottle. Much less evolved than the '07. — 10 years ago
Golden straw and aromatic. Pale stone fruit, ginger, flint. Light to medium in the mouth. Tight, crisp bubble. Mineral edge. Medium petrichor finish. — 11 years ago
I adore St Emillon omg this one is absolutely peak, lush potting soil, petrichor, and dried herbs on the nose. Beautiful palate and finish, touch of limestone, perhaps a teeny bit too much oak, but I like it. — 7 years ago
Orchard fruit, lemon, petrichor. Crisp and fresh - juicy acidity. — 7 years ago
Super focused and elegant. — 8 years ago
Fraises des bois + petrichor = awesome! — 9 years ago
This fresh, crisp, and nervy Sancerre has never disappointed me. It's my go-to for sauvignon blanc and a great benchmark for the region.
As usual, the label declares a wide scale for alcohol percentage (11-14), but 2013 would seem to be at the lower end highlighting the elegance of this wine. Nose is powerful, vibrant, and assertive with layers of citrus (lime, grapefruit, under-ripe orange, etc...it's all there), grass, custard, creme brulee, and a bit of the ever mysterious petrichor-wet stone aroma that hallmarks the appellation. I'd have been happy to bury my nose in the glass, fully content to simply sniff without ever taking a sip. I would have rated the higher if only the mid-palate complexity was in sync with the nose. While it finishes long, the depth and nuance of the aromatics was not matched once sipped with the acidity displaying a few hard angles...perhaps due to its youth. Can't wait fot for time to round it out and bring it all together.

Night cap, herbal and medicinal, petrichor — 12 years ago
If someone asked me about ‘minerality’ in wine, I’d give them this bottle. Aroma and palate are both dominated by wet stones, petrichor, smoke, and an earthy metallic quality. Aroma is rounded out with pear and cream notes, a sweet breadiness (animal crackers?), and the mouthfeel is relatively full-bodied with a touch of alcohol warmth. Reminiscent of an un-oaked Chardonnay just with a huge punch of minerality. Stood up well to some Cacio e Pepe and Caesar salad. — 7 years ago
Lovely nose of violets, cranberry, red currant, mocha, petrichor, and charcoal. The pallet is muted comparatively, but enjoyable. — 7 years ago
Confronting, sharp, yet funky fresh — 8 years ago
Purchased on release, direct. Has been on my short list to open for awhile, but hadn't found the right occasion. Finally decided opening it IS the occasion, so Monday seemed good enough.
Perfectly showing its age, with a distinct aroma that on the surface is a beautiful chord of petrichor. With some further coaxing and some concentration the underlying elements begin to show. Smoldering forest floor leads the way to kirsch, asphalt, garrigue, and herbes de Provence. This really shows off Trevisan's talent to make balanced wines, which is especially noteworthy considering his neighborhood. His restraint paid dividends with this beauty. So happy I waited for this one. — 8 years ago
Moss, petrichor, must. Fantastic — 9 years ago
Opened tight and needed an hour to unfold. Petrichor, dark chocolate, espresso, raspberry and a super long finish. Continues to gain weight and complexity after a couple hours. — 9 years ago
A bit edgy and green upon opening but more wow with some air. Petrichor and savory herb aromatic, veil of red fruit wrapped around salt and stone in the teeth. — 10 years ago
Good value Loire bubble. Lovely aromas of butter and brioche. Medium-bodied, crisp acidity, flavours of petrichor, apple, lemon and lime. Decent finish. — 11 years ago

Wow. Graphite, tar, petrichor. Layers of fresh and dried cherry. This says Brunello for sure. This is not bargain bin Brunello, not baby Brunello, it's real Brunello. Not the most complex or nuanced one to be sure, but if you were trying to teach the difference between a top quality 100% Sangiovese Chianti Classico and BdM this would be a damn good one for the money. Almost too good to be true for under $35. — 7 years ago
