Pago de Carraovejas

El Anejón Ribera del Duero Tinto Fino Blend 2018

One of Carraovejas’ top single-vineyard wines, blend of Tempranillo (81%) with some Merlot (12%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (7%). Fermented in oak vats and aged in new oak barrels for 12 months, and 3 years in bottle before release. Dark fruit, hints of mint, probably from the Merlot. Full-bodied, ripe, powerful. — 12 days ago

Chardonnay con Crianza 2019

Great Chardonnay. Nice fruit and some salty tones making it full bodied. — 3 months ago

— 4 months ago

Tinto Reserva Ribera del Duero Tempranillo Blend 2013

Absolutely stunning. Classic Ribera dark fruit and wood tones. Very long, lively aftertaste. This 2019 Reserva is flirty. Love it! — 19 days ago

Pago del Cielo Celeste Crianza Ribera del Duero Tempranillo 2019

From maestro Miguel Torres comes this “go-to” RdD which is a full, bold, and edgy red beauty. Just try it. Cheers. — a month ago

Joven Roble Ribera del Duero Tempranillo Blend 2027

This 2021 is the freshest Pago I can remember. Expressive nose, with red tones, apart from the plums and blueberries. Good acidity and length. Pleasant. — a month ago

Abadia Retuerta

Pago Negralada Tempranillo 2016

Excellent Tempranillo from another relatively young bodega, from Castilla y Leon. Ripe berry fruits with licorice, thyme, and a lovely balsamic touch. Need time to round out the sharp acidity and the firm tannins, but at this young age it paired very well with a juicy steak. — 4 months ago
