Sage and white pepper on the nose. Silken lingonberry and morello cherry and strawberry pop tart filling. Absolutely seductive, I’m interested in his whole bunch stuff cause this texture is a memory foam pillow — 5 years ago
Tobacco, leather, morello cherry, clove, cinnamon, and potpourri. 15.5% alc is hidden well. In Lecce — 5 years ago
From Magnum. Surprisingly boring. Earthy nose, cloves. Morello cherry, black tea, not that much fruit, chalky, allspice? Might need more time. In this case a generous soul bought the bottle but I need to revisit my own 750’s. I am not sure if they deserve space in my cellar. Obviously expensive. — 6 years ago
Morello cherries, green & black peppercorns, haystack, game, marjoram, dried thyme, mint. Rounded acidity/minimal smooth velvet tannins, medium bodied, satin texture, herbal-gamy finish. Quirky with prominent herbal notes; some reduction that pairs well with venison, red meats, funky cheeses. Do not expect a polished-elegant Pinot Noir. — 7 years ago
N: Like a walk in the woods. In 10 yrs, oh my. Morello cherries, paste( like cherry paste) tree bark and some tar.
P: Really nice puckering tannins, w a braise, would be great. We did Ligurian walnut sauce. Great depth w/o being heavy, some pepper, deep dark red fruits, woody notes. Delish. — 3 years ago
Wonderful acidity. Morello cherry in the mid palate but subtle. Longevity with a bright finish — 5 years ago
A little rustic at first - Decant for ca 30min. After 10 years pretty good! Still very juicy and young at heart with Morello 🍒 and chalk but also plenty of secondary flavors - earthy, forest floor, bark, black tea, blueberry on the back palate pine needles - the tannins are still quite dominant this can go for 5-10 more years. Direct from Lyle Fass and therefore not widely available. — 6 years ago
Surprisingly approachable considering the vintage. Sweet morello cherries, rose petals, moist earth... a very fresh & inviting nose. On the palate this is juicy, with the tannins grippy yet finely grained and the acidity balancing true sweet cherries. Medium bodied and not over extracted nor polluted with heavy oak.
This is delicious stuff, just after opening the bottle, yet even better after 4h decanting. And absolutely perfect with a medium-rare flank steak.
You just got to love Cogno’s lightness of touch with Nebbiolo. — 5 years ago

Good for an organic wine! — 7 years ago
Mad legit, gorgeous nose, pure, nuanced spine with plenty of juice and downright pinot yumminess. Crisp morello cherry, pomegranate, cranberries, blood orange, ferns, earth, Ceylon cinnamon, sandalwood, raspberry leaf, sweet herbs, ground volcanic rocks. Gorgeous floral backdrop to the wine. Structurally its nuanced, plenty of definition and focus with this juicy mid-palate, nice length and silky tannins, bright acid drives the wine. Stoked on this 🔥 — 7 years ago
