Strong yeasty nose, like fresh lemon bread,

Yeastiness grabs your tongue with lychee, lemon, verbana and skips rope with it, adding delightfully tight and well structured bubbles each almost popping with their own honeyed explosion. Lingering finish of all these flavors, and a few moments of reflection.

Right place at the right time. A lovely couple, about to get married - Brought over a bottle to a family celebration. Shared some wine with me, so l shared some Champagne knowledge, and of course, opened the bottle with the faintest of hiss.

Drinking the 2008 in 2017. Deep deep purple color. Thick long legs that last beyond the norm. Soft bouquet with hints of cherry, plum and raisin. Smooth on the tongue, low tannins and you can taste the aged oak! Cherry hints and earthy. Full bodied and smooth to the end. — 9 years ago

Surprisingly young, with a lot of life left in this beautiful wine. Great berries, cassis. Had it after a meal and drinks fine as a stand-alone. Coats the tongue and has a 45+ sec finish. Easily in the drinking window for another 10-15 years (had it in February 2020). — 6 years ago

Is that an Erlenmeyer flask you used to double aerate that before a 12 hour decant? Yep. Cheap on Amazon and super functional. Love it! Oh yea, the wine is gorgeous. Nose is perfume, flowers, blackberry and the tiniest bit of forest floor, nice touch. Full mouthfeel. Coats the tongue and puckers the mouth with consistent tannins throughout. Every now and then A wine that I love comes around with butter and spice and everything nice and this is it! Kathryn by Hall winery 2014 Napa Cab sauv. The bouquet is spicy and oaky! Lots of black licorice. The color of coarse is very dark. You can see the thickness before giving the legs a chance to run. The initial pallet is blackberry blueberry boysenberry deliciousness. The spice hits immediately on the tongue. Oak cigar and other earthtones bring up the rear. The finish leaves your mouth coated in butter As it slips down the throat. It is not overly dry at all. I don’t need water, I just need another sip. Pure perfection as far as my palate is concerned!!!!!! — 7 years ago

Color of dark ruby. Nose is chocolate, plum, raisin, spicy alcohol, and tiny bit of medicinal note. Taste is sweet, with peppery abs spicy mouth feel, sweet raisins, milk chocolate, a bit zesty, and really mellow but enough density on the tongue. Aftertaste is some spicy note again but still very smooth. A bit too much bitter note in the after taste. — 7 years ago
