Seems like a great classic representation of a Chianti. Cherry, Dusty, various baking spices. Interesting enough when it first opened there is definitely a caramel or a burnt sugar going on there, but it faded within the first 5 to 10 minutes. After that it settled down to Fruit forward without any bad tannins or anything else, but still not flabby. Delicious and went very well with our pasta. — 3 months ago
A beautiful shock of garnet, this thin and clear Barolo is lovely, but a little more of a bite than I’d hope for this vintage. The aftertaste lingers nicely (with a light woody flavor), but doesn’t have as smooth of a finish as I’d prefer. It’s still a beautiful wine and love that it comes in a 375 ml bottle. — 5 months ago
This Brunello shows its Sangiovese’s expression to a nice level, packed with cherry notes and flavors, the garnish color gives a nice clue how bright the acidity is on the back of your palate. Great vainilla and woody taste. Tannins are medium, dry enough to Pair with mushrooms dishes, including Risottos. — 10 months ago
Gold hue. Aromas and flavors of apple, apricot, bell pepper, lemon, and petrol, with a hint of grass and creamy notes. Medium body with medium-plus acidity. Silky and rounded mouthfeel. Complex bouquet. Elegant and balanced, with a lasting finish. — 2 years ago
A wonderful Italian wine. Very dark in the glass with great aromas on the nose. Flavors of cherry, blackberry and black currant. Paired it with some bold cheeses. — 5 months ago
Drinking beautifully now. Nose has macerated wild cherry, and savory minerality. Developing a secondary note of aged, well cared for leather. Rather full in the mouth. Deep fruit and a lengthy, minerally gravel-laced finish. Medium acids are kind of sneaky, coming on as the finish extends. Still some very soft tannin present. Lots of character for the money.
UPDATE: Night 2, nose is now showing a crushed rosemary leaf note — 9 months ago
